Is this mid ride or on hard acceleration?
@Dnollie there’re multiple causes for ABS Overcurrent Fault.
- Phase wire connector touching each other while not properly insulated, causing a short.
- Absolute Max Current not set high enough.
- Pushing too many amps through a motor.
- Hitting a sharp bump while on the throttle.
There are more but these seems like the most probable.
I honestly don’t know, I didn’t get a notification so I caught it while looking at stats when I stopped mid ride, if I had to guess, yeah it happened on hard acceleration/going up hills fast.
Post a pic of your settings when you’re able to. It’s unlikely you’re pushing enough amps to cause Overcurrent Fault on start up.
amps are set to 70a/per side and max amps is either 150 or 200, it could be the bullet connectors touching, there’s definitely some metal visible…
Make sure you wrap them in electrical tape so no metal are showing.
Shrink wrap is much better
Agreed. I just tinker with my stuff all the time so electrical tape works for me. Nothing beats a permanent temporary solution.
Upload the ride log if you recorded it. It usually shows where and when it happened.
Edit: not the log, the recording of the ride (with the map ya know?)
Why does it take 1-2 seconds to feel the throttle?
I turned pos/neg ramping to 0.25/0.15 and it takes a solid second at least between the throttle wheel hitting the end, and actually feeling 250+ amps.
Is this a vesc settings thing or is it just the time it takes for my weight to get moved to the back and speed to pick up.
Try positive ramping at 0.1s
Similarly to @CarelessAquarist, I have close to zero torque on take off and bad acceleration, as well as very slow gradual braking. What settings in Vesc tool can I change? It’s a vx4 and dv6s pro on 6.06 firmware.
edit: here’s a vid of takeoff and braking, the remote is pinned full accel and then full brake, and it takes like 10 seconds for the board to get up to top speed but in reverse it’s full power right after tue gradual traction braking.
What are your motor current settings?
Positive ramping time under your throttle tuning is likely set too high. I keep it at 0.1s… just like @MichaelWA said
70a motors -20a brake
60a battery -20a batt
Bump the brake to -70A per side. And -30A battery per side. Also do you have pics of your settings?
Not home right now but I’ll grab one when I can.
How do we feel about putting ESCs on small boxes on top of the back truck? Feel like that frees up enclosure space to potentially fit 2 extra packs. And can be done aesthetically if done nicely.
If they’re boxes you could step on maybe it would be ideal and I see stooge decks have that kind of a shape for better support of the rear foot for launching.
