I wanted to quote something from the old noob thread. But since it’s locked, I can’t do it. Is there something which can be changed in the settings?
You may be able to copy and paste the content you want then alter the quote tag when you make it a generic quote using the editor.
So the story is @wandagoner found the line of code that got changed in discourse to make this possible. After I looked at the line, I knew exactly why we couldn’t do it
The secret is to not use another browser tab
So if you leave your reply box open, use the search at the top to find the closed thread, or navigate to it in the same window without using the browser’s URL field, then highlight the post and click “Quote” then it will work as long as the composer box is open in the same browser tab.
Thanks to @wandagoner for finding that
In the noob thread it’s easy to navigate there, just click outside the compose box and press the Home key on the keyboard, then click the link in the first post to the old noob thread.
oh nice, it works really easy.
Is there a way to remove threads from the “suggested Topics” without having to mute it entirely?
Didn’t really know where to put that but the FAQ link in the updated rules post set as a banner lead to an unreachable or private page.
The link here?
It works for me.
That one works for me too
Oof yeah it gives me the error page
It’s fixed now, I was so confused
@mmaner @BillGordon
Just wanted to voice my opinion that since batteries are “by far the biggest” diy challenge of esk8. Could we possibly add a “Battery Builds” category. It would help to see the process of a properly built battery as a self contained thread rather than having to dig through the rather diluted battery builders thread.
Just a thought
I like this idea.
Yup, makes all kinds of sense. On it.
Okay, there now. We’ll clean up the category intro later. Thanks, 'lamp.
Fantastic. Glad to be of service.
This is of course totally selfish. I’m building my second battery and I’d like this one to not be utter shit
