I use an impact knee pad inside my knee armor which has really helped. Ive not injured ny knee since.
Im trying to do all i can to save the hobby for me. I can’t keep being nearly cripled every time i hit the deck. Like you, ive learned from the past and am doing something about it.
Ive got a good collection of protection now and with luck, itll be rnough to keep the hobby alive for me.

Edit.the surgical notes of what the stuff that came out of here looked like was INSANE. it starts off like the consistency of Jello,but as seen it was a very firm and unyielding mass . I crashed on this and burst it 3 days before surgery(you know because im a dumbfuck) I went in to shock from all that shit hitting my bloodstream, GOD DID I FEEL STUPID! my metro board lost pair on a steep hill"no problem ill just power slide my pneumatic 165 mm tires!" DUMB DU DUMB DUMB DUMB! Now I was wearing active heating all overs struggled so bad to turn it all off! ITS a gift to fuck up like an art form.

that was 4 months post crash,2 surgeries corrected it ,the second surgery was because the drain got infected. its normal now
the cyst is the body trying to encapsulate it I think, the sensation was very odd. I could almost feel it food through my bloodstream, though this is surely all in my head. Boy did I feel stupid!

i have a pair that i find myself not using anymore because it just gets too hot but they do seem like they’d protect you somewhat. all my recent crashes, i ended up sliding on my back, knee pads or elbow pads.

I had ordered the Leatt shorts to try.
They seem well built and comfortable.
However I sent them back because they don’t have any padding covering the butt area.
I have had a few recent falls on my butt where my current padded shorts saved me…
And I am fairly certain the Leatt would have missed.
The ones I wear most of the time as are these Dmoose
Not as nice construction as the Leatt but more pads on the butt…
The Bodyprox are about the same.
The Dmoose just fit me better.

I did get these Onewheel world short inserts…
I have not had a hard fall on them to put to the test.
And I have the smaller OG ones.
I may actually buy the PRO XL hip and Butt pads because I need the added area.
And with summer the shorts really really suck to wear.
So I am more likely to skip putting them on.
But the inserts are super convenient, and not too uncomfortable.
I just don’t know if they work all that well.
Obviously some areas won’t have as good coverage as the shorts.
