Favorite safety gear?

I had the OG Lazyroller hoodie in my crash, the Kevlar did it’s job, after sliding through the huge intersection it was still in one piece and I would’ve still worn it, shitty part is the paramedics had me on a backboard and didn’t let me take it off so they cut it off me. Daniel (RIP) kindly sent me a new one at the cost of shipping.

lost a custom fit rs tachi suit this way, it hurt so bad, no amount of pleading would save it.

What are some recommended armored jackets? Would love something windproof/waterproof. Water resistant is fine, windproof is a big plus.

I have a decent lazy rolling black on reflective black, no armor,1 pinkie sized hole in sleeve,60$ shipped to lower 48
, probably an xl as I wear 44 jacket

There is a new jacket from Revit with rib protection https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TpalTGBsV2M

Love love love my Knox urbane pro jacket, have the older model with the level 2 shoulders. Super protective but you don’t look like an extra from terminator 3

Triple 8 hired hands gloves (reinforced with indestructible gaff after a tumble) - the flatland are too light duty methinks but I use them on my push longboard.

Yet to find shorts I’m really happy with… but planning to make a wide waistband with d30 back protectors.

As a mature age skater who occasionally skates immaturely you can’t be too padded up!

Little pic from todays commute with the Knoxy goodness

If you want wind / waterproof, that’s easy. Get the armored jacket you want, then toss a separate shell over it. I’m partial to the Fjallräven Keb Eco-Shell - it’s light, stops wind and water, is still breathable, and is bombproof. It’s expensive but I use it for all sorts of outdoor activities. My friend prefers an Arc’teryx because it has more ventilation zippers.

Also you don’t need one as pricey as either of those. There are plenty of shells that work well and are less expensive, like in the in-house brand REI versions.

I picked up an XBoard jacket from @PedroMcJimenez

Haven’t taken any falls with it yet, but it’s comfy, reflective, kevlar lined and doesn’t feel too cumbersome.

shameless plug @ShutterShock :heart_hands:

I still love my jackets. Especially the winter one. Tons of my buddies have taken falls in them and the jackets barely get damaged

Most of the beyond gear that I’ve seen people fall in gets shredded

This is my current warm weather Jacket.

Fly Racing Street Flux Air Jacket

I added these Level 2 pads to it. These are really nice and lightweight. Smaller footprint than some other pads I have seen around.

Pros:
It’s super light.
Least material.
No unnecessary hoodie, or collar.

It’s super cool, mostly mesh. Way cooler than the Beyond Riders summer shirt, which is cooler than the Lazy Rolling Performance hoodie.

Least bulky.

Pads fit well and sit in place close to the skin.

Cons:
No aramid, or kevlar all over.

It only has some areas with abrasion resistance.

I do think it is a little less protection than the Beyond Riders or Lazy Rolling with the full kevlar.
But the pads I added are Level 2 and sit well in place.

And this is sooo nice to wear compared to all the other hoodies and jackets I have used.

Due to a debilitating condition which means i get crippled (for about a week) every time my hip/lower back takes a knock, ive been trying to find more gear to assist in keeping me walking… obviously not falling off is platinum level for injury avoidance but hay… here we are…

Some Leatt 5.0 impact pants.

And this thing which i love more… impact foam kidney belt.

I think this means i might be able to try T racing…

I got a huge cyst from falling on my hip(bigger than biggest grapefruit) you can either sew on or just place another hip pad inside of those to increase your protection level. it makes you seem like you have big hips, but it didn’t hinder me and I had some 40 mph plus crashes with great results.
if you have hip issues this is a cheap way to add the pads right where you need them .

That sounds like a messy fall

LOL, what a hero for the :eggplant:
