I’m talking mostly about the “leverage ratio” of Lean:Turn. This is the same thing we talk about in mountain bike suspension systems. Linear vs progressive, etc.
I’m in agreement, nothing different in the lean to turn ratio in the way you’re discussing it. It’s similar to channel trucks and similar to SRB 3-links. @tuckjohn and I were trading boards at seacarve (Lacroix chonky boys, Tucker on duality, mine on SRB 3 links) and although our boards are quite different because my wheelbase is insane, the lean/turn characteristics are quite similar (zero rake, low rebound). Jackson’s board was looser and setup for more turn up front, but Jackson likes them loose setups on Roci.
I think if you had more people riding channel trucks at 45 degree front angle, they would have a better reputation for turning. That could be a fun experiment on matrix 3’s
For sure. And for the record, I think if the question on the table was “does the average duality setup turn better than the average channel truck setup” then the answer is unequivocally “yes.” For many reasons, including the ones you outlined with regards to the channel truci bushings restricting the overall range of motion more.
I really need to get myself a set of these trucks god damnit
I love Homing Frequency and its only going to get better once i get the flexy enclosure and more voltage. Lower speed carving (up to 25) feels like snowbaording.
Yes! These trucks have been so much fun for low speed carving with deep leans. They are like loose channel trucks without the slop. Feel as turny as DKPs to me.
@BenjaminF Don’t feel pressured to get these trucks. But all the cool kids at school are doing it.
Thanks! That’s actually two different tracks! There was a race in Pardubice where I finished 2nd and the podium photo is from. Kartplanet is in Prague where there wasn’t an organized race now, I just set a lap time that makes me the 2nd fastest esk8er on that track so far, and there’s about 40 people (esk8 and euc) in the rankings there, including most of the fast EU riders but not all.
The new setup is killer! Probably most comparable to a 4wd vesc spine build. A month ago I didn’t think I would say this but unfortunately my 13kW battery feels limiting now
Also I am #9 in T-race now on this setup! And beating my own records nearly every session.
Aaand doing 12.xx in T-race now on the new setup! If anyone is doubting these trucks, that’s the confirmation right there that these are definitely race ready on the top level, assuming built out appropriately.
About to build out a SemenBone for myself and I’m thinking these trucks could be awesome for it.
The hangers are 22mm with a 6mm radius yeah?
Can anyone confirm if the boardnamic Apex air adapters fit? In theory I think they should.
The deck gives you around 35mm drop depending on what wheelbase you want. Dualities are 60mm from deck to axle. If your after a low ride height for that deck specifically, they probably aren’t it. That’s why I’m building a race board with more drop again for the dualities.
that’s good to know, thanks bro. saves me from having to do my own measurements. sounds like it would’ve worked better on sidewinder than the bone. guess i’ll be sticking with 3links for a bit.
On Duality trucks rotating the hangers around you can greatly alter the wheelbase and axle to deck height. How much depends on the angle they are mounted at, but it is substantial.
