Did you just guess on the motor amps? Those motors should be able to take more amps than that, but it depends on what they set them at I guess
It’s a stormcore on a stock board, so I felt like 80a/motor was a fair assumption. You could dial it up as you see fit, but I don’t think most of the buyers for this board would mess with VESC tool.
6396 190kv - yeah you could hit these with a shit ton of amps. 80a isn’t really coming close to their rated torque. 80a puts them at 4nm and I’d guess they are rated for 7nm or around there.
Easily 100+ funny that one might be able to upgrade this board with an ESC swap to makerx or something. That’s cool tho! Make up for the lower gear ratio with amps, then you get higher speed and fun zoomies

Yeah, definitely better just to get a high amp rated ESC if that’s what you’re after. This board is also FAST. If you really wanted more torque, the first thing to do would be move to 2.78 gear ratio instead of 2.2
There may not be enough clearance with the current motors for a smaller pinion.

the decks have started shipping, the first 14 just arrived, and final assembly/configuration has begun.

Also, packaging and user manuals are still being finalized but that should be wrapping up any day now. We’ll be getting the final engineering sample for the packaging in a few days, then we can order the boxes.
Once the boxes are here I think we’ll be officially launching and telling everyone we’re taking pre-orders. I think preorders are actually working now but we’re still getting the developers to finish the site’s content updates, especially the bits suggested by the community.
rain and splash resistant, definitely not submersible, but the prototype did survive an incredibly brief submersion during a torrential downpour while being ridden. It rains every day here in the summer so we’ve seen some wet.
we just really like riding thane. There is a pneumatic version on the table if these sell pretty well though. It would require wheel development and a gear ratio change, so separate drives for pneumies. We’d likely go with 145s or something similar in tire size. And we’d keep the Kegel peg pattern so the community can easily develop their own wheels and swapping would be easy.
MAD 105s fit well and rode very well on the prototype when we tested. Also TB 110s are compatible.

Regarding range, @longhairdboy (when he was 160 pounds) got 38 miles out of it on a paved bike trail while maintaining (as best as possible given the occasional stop and go environment) speeds at or above 25mph. So if you ride this thing like grandma in mode 1 you might get 45 miles or more out of it.
