DAVEGA X: Gauging interest

Thx to you!

Quick raw print, the design is not finished (as the color print ^^) but its to make an overview  (its around 40mm heigth - the shield, with à 2.5° riser)

I’m having a slow moment here but how will angled risers work?

It seems like that bolts won’t align with the thread holes?

Yes, its why I extrude holes from both side (flat and 5° one), then made a centered hole from of the previous two with a bit extra room (actually 3.6mm for the m3 screw … with 4 screws screwed it’s gonna be ok) :relaxed:
it works like angled riser on our esk8!

Are you sure your motors actually have temperature sensors and that they work correctly?

This is unlikely a DAVEGA problem. It just displays whatever data the VESC reports.

It would be really cool if it was magnetic so that you could easily put it on and off again as needed.

Yeah I think this may be unique to the motors I’m using, TB 6355. I’m not sure their temperature sensors are working properly.

I was thinking of doing that actually

Hmm sorry I don’t quite follow even looking at the stl.

Would the angled risers also involve angling the bottom plate of the Davega? That to me would make more sense.

:open_mouth: awesome !! I will upgrade that way !
Thx, I like that clever modularity.

Sorry, but if I understand you well, no.
Not to me. For me the bottom plate it the support to fix the Dav on the deck,
plus the riser will reduice the tiny little hole that could let watter in between the bottom plate and the top case (then just add some glue around the the hole and wires).

I do it that way, but I guess other will work too

Oh do you not use screws to hold the top? Is it held together by glue? The way I see it is if it’s at an angle, the screws won’t go into the thread holes.

Got mine today, perfect little package, thanks @janpom :call_me_hand::call_me_hand::call_me_hand:

Yes, I did use screws! I told you I make holes, there was for the screws, like I already explain.
Be sure I see the same thing that you :relaxed: , and once again its why I adapt the weird design for it.
Other way will/could work too.

In any case, with only 2.5° or 5° riser, it works perfectly :

It’s why I didn’t make a 30° one, but I will see how work 10 or 15° now

Can the riser be used the other way around -2.5°? For example if you have a 35° trampa and it is to vertical for your liking, you just use it to make it flatter?
Just a question. I don’t have a davega… Yet😉

I imagine you can just flip it over since the threaded holes in the baseplates are symmetrical.

BTW, as much as I like the risers as well as all the other davega accessories that you guys keep inventing, I don’t believe that a 10 degree or less of an angle will make a lot of difference in display readability. I’d suggest that you test it without the riser first.

The sun shield, on the other hand, will likely make a huge difference on sunny days.

Duh, it finally clicked in my head, haha I was thinking too hard about it. At a slight angle, it wouldn’t affect the seating of the screws which is why maybe 30 degrees wouldn’t work. Thanks for bearing with me

Yes, 5° isn’t changing that much, its why I didn’t share the 2.5° on Thingiverse.
But it will be useful for the support of the shield I think… we will see ^^

@PixelatedPolyeurthan The riser I 1st made is the flat one (that will add water/dustproof efficiency … )

Pre-DAVega from 2 years ago… I think Jan did a waaaaay better job.

Hi guys,

I am using the TB DD 90kv with the DavegaX, would you know which setup for the drive to put ?
SO far I have 7 motor poles pair, 90kv, 1 motor pulley tooth, 1 motor pulley tooth… Is that correct ?

I don’t think it is cause the board shows me 144km/h top speed unloaded !

Thanks for your answers.

You’re the fastest guy ever appeared on the sky.
