I think our best bet is to send a 45x pot to Dani. Everybody having issues seems to be using one, and the issue seems to be one of throw sensitivity.
I have a single pot. Can self sacrifice of necessary. @dani , if we get one to you are you able to do a bit of troubleshooting against your 60x? I’m making a presumption the x value is throw sensitivity. Can send a mini as well if needed… for the sake of science IG

I had no issues with mine as you saw in the video.
The 45/60 difference might be just the reason.
Sure, if you are willing to do that I will compare it against mine.
If you throw in a mini I will just send you a complete unit in return.

Hey @dani and @midlifecrisis , did you ever find out if the in + and in - ports where the ones to wire to for discharge from this 1s board (on the right)?
Or would you just wire it to the battery terminals?
I was leaning towards the latter seeing as the design of the larger boards terminal pad locations for the battery power and discharge pads seem purposefully close to one another…

I checked it recently with the Chilly.
My understanding is the smaller one is only a charger, whether the bigger one has also some discharge protection.
The +/-IN near the socket do nothing, maybe some monitoring signal.
For the chubby I recommend using the one on the left as it will also protect your cells. The closeness of the pads is no problem if you’re careful with the solder.
Edit: with the smaller one the discharge go straight from the battery

Oh so the larger one has a discharge protection to avoid over-discharge of the cells…

Here you go:
I ran my old hook remote dead a few times with the smaller one and when I plug it to a charger it charges so I assume it protected my lipo but I might be wrong.
Correction. It is a charger only.
I measured on one of my minis – it stops working around 2.4v. Next time you run it dead, check the voltage. 0v on the output means cell protection kicked in.

I have my chubby together but for some reason when I close the two halves together to seal it up it seems to short a circuit on the board and the red led flashes sometimes slowly, and other times rapidly before the controller has even been turned on. I trimmed and re-soldered any tall pointy solder joints and snipped pins sticking outwardly from the board but the problem persists. I will try to coat any battery terminals in hot glue to avoid any contact with other terminals on the board.
I had also wanted to know if the potentiometer wires/pins where needed to go to the lower sensor port. This confused me because these wire ports you have shown where used for the steering unit of the mini controller, and not the throttle… any word on this @dani ?

Just wanna chime in and say that my chubby is horribly unsafe… The throttle is like an on/off switch and once set up in the vesc tool it’s very very unsafe. I really like the ergonomics though and I’m hoping I can reuse it later on!

Maybe you got the wrong pot sensor. Should be smoother than the original mini according to others
I did notice the other day that Maytech is running a spring sale for their fancy controller for 80$ now. Used to be a 300$ premium waterproof remote with an lcd display and a bunch of sensory calculators for speed, range, battery voltages, etc. Might want to check it out if your in the market for a new one

You can choose either, just use other channel on the receiver.

I have the V1 and loooooove it. The V2 adds another channel to control lights or a horn or whatever. It also shows some more telemetry on the screen. The amount of throw and control in the triggers is insanely comfortable. I can use arctic mittens and control it still.

I loved @J0ker’s V1, but I ended up buying a Hoyt Puck instead and I love it 
I wish I had both to try against each other…
