Stick with the current for now but run flat washers on the front bushings and cups on the back bushings.
@RipTideSports I am thinking about trying out WFB bushings on my Tito dualities, this would be my first time ever on WFB.
Currently I am running 92.5A tall barrels in APS on the front, one 93A krank tall chubby and one 92.5A APS tall chubby on the rear, flat washers all around. 25 degrees on the front 10 on the rear at the moment, although I am rebuilding the board on a longer deck soon so I expect to end up around 27.5-30 front and 10 rear longer term.
I would like to achieve a bit more resistance in the center for high speed confidence and similar rebound as now deep down the lean to not compromise on turning. By deep down I mean really deep, putting that range of motion to the test. I think WFB formula and a bit harder duro might help achieving this.
Also the rear should be juuuust a tiny bit more restrictive compared to the front then it is now.
I think the shapes are good as is, tall barrels front tall chubbies rear, just a little hesitant on which duros to go with. Donāt mind trying different duros boardside roadside or even mixing formulas as long as it tightens up the center a bit but doesnāt really affect the end of lean.
I have forgotton what the bushing interface looks like on the hanger, can you post pictures?
Thanks, tried it out feels so much better.
What does changing roadside affect compared to boardside?
Would running taller bushing on the front and shorter bushing on the back, create a bit of wedge/dewedge or is that stupid?
Is there a difference between running a softer bushing tighter versus a harder bushing looser?
Do yāall have insert bushings for the size?
My rear tends only have one wheel contact on sharper turns, however if I loosen the bushing the board becomes a bit too unstable. Anything I can do to fix that?
Hi, does Riptide make bushings and pivot cups for Indy trucks, specifically STAGE 11 FORGED HOLLOW. Thanks. I can also measure the bushings if that helps.
Yes we do, go to our ShortStreet series for the top bushing and Street series for the bottom bushing. Use the search function for Indy Pivot cups or search by truck.
The Krank Barrels I have are borrowed from a fellow e-skate buddy, while I find something for myself.
It also seems the stock bushings are also closer to 1" than .96", would going for 90a magnum/93a cannons and 87a fatcones, be somewhat similar to the all barrel setup but a bit more stability focused?
Thanks for the help and direction here, RipTide. I use your bushings in my Lacroix hypertrucks. Green rear. Red Front. I weigh 120 lbs + Iām usually wearing a 20 lb backpack majority of the time. Board used for commuting to work 12 miles round trip. Main objective = High speed stability. Currently comfortable @ 29mph. I remember being comfortable up to 34 mph when board was newer for some reason and I not only want that back but trying to increase that speed to 40mph comfort.
Iām thinking on trying Grey riptide bushings in rear and maybe green in front but thinking on drilling holes in them, front & rear.?.?
I will be getting wider wheels but in meantime what degree wedge risers would you suggest in both rear and front for optimal high speed stability?
PREESH
I think itās time for new pivot cups
Is this a normal amount of wear? Seems like the roadside rear pivot cup took the majority of the beating from motor torque(the front isnāt nearly as bad)
Wow, I must not be riding hard enough?
It would be interesting to see how the pivot pin looks. I reckon the aluminium has also wore down quite a bit and itās not just the pivot cup.
Thatās the reason right there why the Tito Dualities and some super expensive niche LDP trucks use replaceable steel pivot pins. They tolerate wear much longer, and in case you ever manage to wear it out you can just replace it without needing to replace the whole hanger.
I took a look at it, and itās polished silver lol. Iāll post a picture when I swap out the pivot cupsā¦ Hopefully the new ones arenāt too loose
What trucks are those and what pivots are you replacing them with?
Tynee Explorer DKP.
Iām already running Indy pivots, theyāre the ones in the video. They were a perfect vacuum fit when new, so pretty sure they were/are the right size
I just bought new indy pivots to replace them.
(We had an email exchange May 8~15th 2023, you recommended them after I provided caliper measurementsš)
Hi. I messed up and order an APS barrel bushing instead of a APS Street Barrel 0.5". The bushing is way to tall for my Indy trucks. Iām thinking of just cutting it with something really sharp. Would you advise against that? I would exchange it but the shipping back and forth is like 35 bucks for an 9 buck itemā¦which of course sucks.
We cut them on a lathe when needed. Be really careful if you use another method
Iāve stuck bushings onto a wood dowel, and cut them both fairly precisely with a Japanese flush cut pull saw.
I have used 80 grit sandpaper with good results. Lay the sandpaper on a flat surface. As you sand, rotate the bushing in your hand. Also inspected the bushing regularly to ensure it is level. Maybe a belt sander would work to.
If I had excess to a lathe I would definitely do that.
