Bushing and Truck Setup Help Offered

Yeah i kinda figured as much, but youre the worlds bushing expert. Im gonna experiment a lot until i find what works, just like i did with my current ride. Is there any particular formula that you make that excels at the snappy return, even when not so hard?

KranK would be my choice and that is what Apex Airā€™s come stock with

Nice! I was just checking the duros on the ones i have from them, i think im gonna try 1 orange fat cone, 1 orange barrel, boardside, with white cones streetside, and adapt from there. Likely ordering some white and orange barrels from you now xD

I have the medium bushings setup the way they came with kingpins tightened a little bit. Haero bro with a +5 front wedge and nothin in the rear

Same exact brushings and angle setup here. What I will say is that i have had some really bad esc behaviour with brakes being uneven and the trucks have been so incredibly stable.

I think the stock 100A are just bad quality they are very tight as soon as you start to lean but in the center they are pretty loose

I mean it has 100mm wheels. And due to the fact its mounted drop through the wheels are pretty close to the board.

I know but sadly i donā€™t have much choice since the hub motors are mounted very different than our normal longboard wheels.
Its never going to be optimal but i want to make it as good as possible with the current setup.
I can still modify the board to change the truck angle to 45 degrees.

I cant find 25mm wide bushings in your tall series.

24.8mm diameter is close enough, run the sharp edge of the TallBarrel bushings towards the hanger. For 65 KG I would suggest KranK 87a TallBarrel / TallFatCone front and a TallBarrel / TallChubby in the back if the TallChubby will fit. Otherwise, TallBarrels all around with flat washers up front and cups in the back. De-wedge to 45 in the back if you can.

Taller bushing give you more lean, a more progressive resistance.

Lean is more defined by the hanger clearance for the king pin. Once the king pin connects with the hanger, lean is over.

hey brad! just ordered a few lil things from ya, wanted to mention, youve got a dead link on your site to the gbomb torsion tail. iirc it was on the page for the chubbys, or maybe the cubes.

Start with the lowest budget you can and get safety gear. This spot is for tuning trucks so depending on the use case you need to figure that out.

Hey Maria, you have askes a really broad question that is nearly impossible to answer. Are you looking for an electric or analog skateboard?

Hey Brad, I was wondering if I could get some recommendations on bushing type and durometer to upgrade to.

I currently have a Backfire Zealot with the stock bushings. They have a Caliber II 50 on the front and a Caliber II clone in the back.

I weigh about 200-215 lbs and am looking for a setup thatā€™ll be stable at 40km/h but can still carve at lower speeds if possible.

I was considering running Chubby board side and Barrel roadside but wasnā€™t sure about the durometer or if thereā€™d be other bushing types I should consider.

Thanks for the help!

50 or 44 degree baseplates and any deck features that effect the base plate angles?

Both 50Ā° and nothing that affects baseplate angles, but the deck is on the flexier side, not sure if thatā€™ll affect things though.

OK 50 degree trucks turn a lot without much lean so I would suggest going with a plush setup that uses larger than standard bushings close to the same duro as stock. For you I would suggest a Barrel / FatCone front and a Barrel Chubby rear in KranK 90a. We can do a mixed pair of a Chubby and a FatCone if you donā€™t want to order 3 pair of bushings to make the configuration suggested. I also suggest replacing the stock pivot cups with our Caliber II 96a pivots

Sounds good, I was planning on getting the pivot cups anyways.

How would I go about asking for a mixed pair when I order from the site?

Also would the fatcone be roadside or boardside?

FatCones are normally used boardside and just leave us a note below the shipping options that you are ordering a pair of FatCones but you would like a mixed pair of a FatCone / Chubby shipped.

@RipTideSports Iā€™m getting ready to order bushing, do you have any recommendations for this config?
