Boardnamics M1 Gear Drive + Other News

Can’t believe you are calling me fat like this in front of everyone…

Maybe I could live with 85mm Caguamas.

I need to find the dude that did the Lou board deck with front wheel drive.

Sorry, I think your horizontal profile is beautiful
(Have no clue what u look like)
Caguamas and absolutely smooth clean pavement would be a fun ride, but your talking just less than a 1/4" of clearance.

Maybe the wrong thread but I’ve got my M1 gear drives and the spintend Ubox (plus spintend remote). Setting the motor and wheel to 23/64 in the remote with my remote shows only 26 km/hr in bench testing on full throttle.

Is this an issue with vesc settings or what? I have the wheel size set to the 100mm. Thanks

What battery, what motor Kv?

12s4p p42a (set to 60A in vesc). 6374 190Kv

Just to make sure (since not all of their hubs’ mounting patterns look the same), there will be a wheel adapter for Trampa Superstars?

Yes superstars are supported

Removing my gear affixed with green Loctite was quite a feat, now I’ve got a pretty design on my bench and a colorful gear.
Make sure you get a powerful blow torch when you remove it, my two little eagle torches were far from adequate.

Doesn’t need to get that hot

Really???
Before I got it this hot to make the gear colorful I had like three trials of heating it, hammering it a bit, than trying to rip it out with pliers, each time failed.
My last trial I made it super spicy and than it slid right out.

Which one? Loctite 290?

Which loctite should be used?

I’m the wrong person to ask. I feel like using adhesives for that is bad design.

I want a key and a circlip or something mechanical.

Of course cutting the shaft poses circlip problems, and everyone else seems to be fine using Loctite on the motor shafts. So :man_shrugging:

M1GearDriveAssembly.pdf (1.3 MB)
My set screws would rattle out each time, even with LOTS of blue loctite, so I used 648.

Did you try a gear puller…?

No, I don’t have one of those.
The gears are out now, and it’s time to install the 2.20 ratio gears.

Time to hit AliExpress.
The right tools (even a cheap one) make this job a lot easier (I have tried both ways :joy:)
