Yep, this is precisely the sound I’m going for. Also something something hardened steel durability…
I made mine uneven on purpose so I couldn’t accidentally mount it backwards while I was making it
BB hummie enclosure is asymmetric
So where’s the video so we can hear these things? Looking at you beta testers
@Boardnamics, beautiful work and great pricing. Motor pulleys with m5 set screws are fantastic
One question, are you expecting the helical gear sets to be an upgrade option that will fit this case for any of us early adopters? I might not wanna wait, but I don’t necessarily need two sets
So much better than that stupid metal thing sticking a mile out the back
Kevin when I get my set in Nov I’ll ride over and we can try it out
Funny how this works huh
Do the drives exhibit chirality, or will a drive fit either side?
A drive fits either side, no right left versions
It’s not in beta testing anymore, the final version is produced and shipping to me.
The sound is cool, I’ll shoot some audio tomorrow.
@Boardnamics the gear drives and Matrix 2 mounts look great. Definitely gonna be on my Xmas list.
For the gear drives, what length motor shafts will fit? Seems like some gear drives need really short shafts and need to be cut down to fit in the housing. Id like to avoid that, if possible, especially if they have to be cut so short that they become less usable for other applications.
22.5mm is the max shaft length I really tried to make it more but it just was not easy.
I considered making spacers that would have the motors sit out further from the case. This would solve it, but would increase radial loads on the motor bearings because the forces are further away from the first bearing.
I’d put that up in the first post or maybe on the technical specifications page on boardnamics.com when it’s up
Motor shaft dia. probably good to state also
This is awesome! Finally a smaller gear drive! I have been using 3DServisas drive with 97mm wheels but the clearance is too low, getting lots of damage on the drive. Will be ordering dual (I already have 184 precision boardnamics, ordered those in November last year, but still never used, I’ve seen people having some issues with axles, should I be worried?)
@Boardnamics sorry couldnt see an answer to this - will we have to use the BN 270’s and not BN 220’s hanger for 6374 motors?
220mm hangers are plenty long for 6374 motors
8mm only. 10mm is an easy thing to add but it would cost more, more gears have to be made
The more options, the higher the price has to be. There’s a reason I can offer these at the cost I do.
In fact, my hangers were an attempt to push a standard
No objections bro, you’re killing it
