Forward mounting kinda sucks because if you try to go up a bump, your motors may impact first.
does this mean thereāll be a problem front mounting 6374ās on a hummie, or is the small dropdown (not sure you can even call the hummie a dropdown) too shallow for it to be a problem? (in your estimation anyway, since no one afaik has tried yetā¦)
This I will agree fully on though. They perfectly tuck right in. Also most like he meant for it to be that way lol.
@Boardnamics, No hate homie! Still happy with the purchase.
It goes both ways, and both methods have their uses ![]()
I forward mounted my Avio gear drives on my hummie deck, and didnāt have an issue. That said, I was top mounting the trucks and using hammock baseplates which raise the deck a lot.
I wanna make a skid plate out of hdpe so I can go off curbs. Thats my next todo
Iāve actually noticed a lot more damage occurs from rear mounting (on rear trucks) because rocks and debris fly up off the roadway after, not before, the wheels hit it.
ah okay. I was thinking of going up a curb-ramp where itās not completely flush with the street.
Anyone knows what the deal with Berg wheels is at the moment? Hoping to buy a gear drive to pair it with bergs, but haggys site not showing any products. Are they out of stock?
Haggyboard moved from taiwan to spain recently their entire shop is MIA, they said they would be back up at the end of August, but have yet to come back. Best bet for buying bergs rn is to put up a WTB thread on the forum, people will have some lying around they arenāt using
I see. @boardnamics any chance to make another wheel adapter for the GD such as metroboardx or Torqueboards if enough people want it?
pretty sure iāve seen a second hand set in the threads that bumped yesterday, you should check the market corner
But the middle gear will wear twice as fast.
Purpose of metal gears
Also real question ⦠is there a plan for helicals but full metal any time soon
And also how does this gear drive noise compare to other drives?
Thanks
Why the hype with helicals, i dont get it, much more forces to take into concideration and less range. Id prefer the spur gears 100%
Noise
I want quite gears as I donāt want to attract to much attention
Where do these stand with noise
Yeah these are steel, unlike all the plastic ones on the market

Does this basically mean these are unbreakable? Or will they still wear over time
Also does anyone have a noise comparison
Everything will wear over time, it extends the period by a lot though.
@Boardnamics is there a link to the assembly instructions anywhere? I havenāt purchased any drives yet, just looking to know more about how they go together.
