How do y’all connect your battery/pelican case to your DIY mountainboard? Pictures appreciated. I want to have my 18s6p in the pelican case secure when riding but also readily removable so I don’t need to lug my 40 pound board inside for it to charge.
I have used ratchet straps and bungee cables before but I’d prefer a much cleaner and refined option. I was considering maybe using the same latch that is used on utility boxes, but I’ve not figured out a way to make that happen yet
I know my mtb, @MichaelWA’s MTB, and a number of others used an apex deck (rip apex) with pre installed threaded inserts in the deck which could be installed yourself on any deck+pelicase combo (tutorial+more info on that here) this is probably one of the cleanest looking methods but pretty inconvenient if you want to quick swap batteries, maybe check out the MBS Agent series, I believe they have a pretty refined quick swap system they they may be intending to sell aftermarket or could potentially serve as a starting point to design your own
I also have a quick swap system that I designed that a few people are running, mostly people I’ve sold to locally, and maybe one or two on the forum. @bboybowzer has one setup that I think is still running.
Haven’t put much dev time into it lately tbh, I have ideas for a v2 just haven’t done it yet
None on hand, I technically sell it in my store but I’ve been testing it for a while so it wasn’t listed. It’s all 3D printed custom design with springs and stuff
I wonder if Acedeck would sell this quick release adapter as an accessory once they finalize the design. Not sure how well it would hold up to real mountain board abuse though.
Hi Bro. It looks that You have a Trampa deck and so heavy metal battery box. Fit that setup You need just 3 silentblocks with diameter min. 35mm just in the middle like original Trampa or Haero layout. Just must check specs of silent blocks producer to be able choose correctly robust solution. My friend used it like I said and no issues till now also on Trampa and metal box with 12s6p. For decks like MBS or Apex/Haero You can choose square layout (smaller square is better, and do it like AxA not AxB) but for Trampa You must use it just 3 in center line and bigger diameter and height . Minimum 35 diameter x20 high. Also Your actual solution it not look like perfect, it will jammed box or threads. Move it to centerline because of flex .
In my day job as a cabinetmaker, we use these connectors to join panels and infills all the time. They slide together and lock really well, and theyre cheap.
