Hey quick noob question, what is the hub opening on those tires? Only wondering because I have a pair of hubs from vestarboard and was going to see if I can just use those and only get the tires from metro.
Inner diameter measures 94mm, fits on all the normal 3.75" hubs, not sure about vestar.
My 8" T3 tires have gotten pretty worn relatively fast. Honestly haven’t even finished tweaking my board yet after getting it all together and they are looking bare…
Any recommendations for longer lasting 8"/9" tires? I’m on 9" MBS T2 now, I guess I’ll see how these hold up but I’m expecting relatively short life if I ride on the road a lot like the T3s.
Anybody know if the evolve 47t AT drive gear will fit on the metroboard 155mm tire set? Or should I just go with metroboard’s 52t?
I’ve definitely noticed mbs uses a softer compound. The aliexpress ones are harder and last a lot longer without much of a ride difference. @tinp123 is doing a group buy of them in a harder compound formula.
A group buy for harder MBS 9" T2??
Also I see why 8" front / 9" rear would be popular. I love the ride quality but I really need to consciously force myself to consider turning if I need it on a dime. I’ll keep all 9" for now though, even though my efficiency has taken a noticable nosedive… from ~25 miles range to ~15-18 miles > maybe just cause I love riding in grass so much more now though. Torque on the same 4.2:1 gearing took a nose dive too … plenty enough torque to go fast in grass but not close to peeling out like before… need to add my caps, increase in motor / battery amps help but still overcurrent faults, so mad caps tonight and then I’ll hit the hefty amps without fault hopefully.
Overall though loving 9" T2s so far.
Is that with the TB6? What setting are you running currently?
Does anyone else own these tires? I got mine and it got a hemaroid
I’d there anything else besides clever tires that are good for Bergs?
Those damn Phillips head tires again
Who designed these things?
A penis wrinkle. Aliexpress generic 6x2?
160x50 from Ali…I ordered 5 and the bastards sent me 2, and 1 of them is shaped like a fucking egg
I’m currently having the same issue with some generic 8"ali ones. The tire bead was cut by a drunk.
Not squeezing it at all.
I trimmed it up and it got 10% better. Turns out 2 of them were slightly eggy.
I’ve never had tires I’m trying to burn through as quickly as possible.
Back to your original question, clever tires are always recommended to me to replace bergs
71 mm hub diameter on bergmeister rims though fwiw
Ah damn, I don’t like the look of Clever tires…so square
Agreed. I haven’t tried them yet based on looks alone. Legitimately interested in ride feel though.
I know Timo is getting new tubes made for his tires but am patiently waiting.
Yeah, with the TB6. I’ve made a few changes to my settings, tuned the PID speed controller a bit to reduce overshooting the target (tested on the bench by setting RPM and adjusting values, got it to about a third of the overshoot from default), increased the observer gain, and (I think probably the only real fix that I know for a fact works) was to reduce motor amps to 95-105A depending on how safe or dangerous in feeling- I’m not physically capable of testing out anymore 110A+ on rough terrain though… guaranteed overcurrent faults hurt. With the lower motor amp settings I haven’t had a single overcurrent fault.
I know a lot of people ride 9" rear / 8" front…
Anyone tried the opposite, 8" rear / 9" front?
Agility is fine on my 9" wheels, and I like the extra softness they provide, but with my current gearing the torque (though fine) isn’t the best. Thinking about trying 8" on the rear to get some of that old torque back but I’m
Isn’t the idea of using 9“ rear 8“ front that you have more clearance in the back and it’s easier to pop the front over holes or small obstacles?
I didn’t try the other way round, but I’d say you do not win anything with it. Better than 8“ everywhere in my opinion.
I’m loving the abec11 6x3s
