Beginner Question Thread! 2023 Edition

I just got my makerx d100s setup and I’m through motor configs, but my remotes giving me trouble. I’m able to see the throttle respond under the vesc remote tab but can get it to control the duty bar. It’s a flipsky v2 remote. I’m getting board telemetry so I know my pins are correct. Would appreciate any help! :pray:

Did you do motor wizard and then input wizard?

Using app or computer?

I did motor wizard but have no luck in input wizard. I’m on my PC.

I got it dude. I didn’t try input wizard after I saw the response. Thanks for your help! My brain wasn’t working. That was easy.

I’ve been having some over current troubles recently


SC60D+, Slow ABS is on, I’m only running about 70 motor amps/side with 200 as the abs max. Seems to only happen at low speed and low throttle. Anybody have diagnosis tips?

Eta: the end of the metr log, the video and the screenshot all depict the same instance of the fault though I have had others.

Hmmm only odd thing I notice is that your speed goes negative but your amps (current and motor current) stayed higher than expected.

Was it a quick blip on the remote on the end or what could have caused the motor amps to jump? Looks like you were stopped for about 27 seconds prior to the error.

I’m not sure what you mean by blip, I was staying between 0-10% throttle to induce the fault as it doesn’t seem to happen under normal starting circumstances.

Actually I was just going back and forth really slowly trying to induce the issue again lol.

Almost looked like you just tapped the remote real quick to make it spike.

I mean, kinda? I was trying to stay at 0mph and as low throttle as I could to trigger the fault which seemed to work.
It only seems to happen at sensored speeds between 0-0.5mph but my sensors both seem to be working. I’m not getting cogging on normal starts like it’s sensorless.
Could it be intermittent sensor issues?

That’s what I am leaning towards since it’s all low speed fuckery.

Visual inspection of the sensor wires and connectors didn’t reveal anything amiss, I reran sensor detection and that seems to have fixed it but I have yet to take it for a proper test ride.

Unfortunately hope was not enough to keep the gremlins at bay. It was running well for about 20 miles then cogged again today. No OC fault this time but it felt exactly like…

I’m not quite sure what else to do, I used a bunch of silicone when assembling everything in the hopes of avoiding this issue exactly.
I’m going to try more Tessa tape securing the sensors to the phase wires in the hopes of getting a bit better strain relief.
If that doesn’t work I might just give up on sensors and run shfi at this point.

Any super easy magical fixes I might be missing?

I.m working with maytech 6355 motors and caliber 2 184mm hanger. I’m shy 3-5mm to be able to fit both motors on there with bolt on wheel pulleys. I’m seriously considering grinding of 2-3mm on the botom of the motors. Is that a bad idea or has it been done before?



Can you offset them a tiny bit so the nipples overlap?

Could try that yeah. I can’t belive I haven’t tought of that. I was hoping to conect the two motor mounts and add some wood or something to protect them as i will be mounting them in reverse on a kicktail board.
