Yes, they seem to like duct tape. Here is some more use of duct tape.

I need help with Vesc tool. I have some questions about my current settings and need to connect new motors. I’m trying to figure out why my battery reading is red and says 156%.

Can anyone help me with this?

there’s settings in vesctool for how big your battery is.
it’s probably set wrong which is why you’re getting the wrong percentage.

wish vesc tool had dummy mode that would let me look at settings without being connected to a board. i’d point you more specifically.

I got that part fixed, it was set to 12 instead of 10. But it will not perform motor detection

@Ianza7 also asked:

I am having trouble VESC tool, can you help me?

I have a prototipo with stock battery and stock ESCs. Can’t get it to detect motors

I assume that means you have the og individual blue focbox singles.

I’m not sure off the top of my head but others probably know better than me why it might not detect.

how’s it failing? are you getting an error message?

Heh. you were one post ahead of me.

hmm. can’t write motor configuration is weird.

did it go through the detection steps? buzz and spin the motor?

No noises and then I got that message in the picture

Yeah I have the Focbox singles

did you successfully connect to the ESCs at all?
are you using bluetooth dongle+uart to connect? or USB cable?

were you able to see what firmware version the focbox currently has on it?

Im connected with a cable.

ok that looks connected.

so what steps are you doing next? using the detection wizard?
are you telling it to do all over can or one at a time?

I went to setup Motors FOC. Said No to the messsage that said “would you like to restore this VESC and all VESCs on the CAN-bus to their default settings before proceeding?” Selected E-Skate, selected medium outrunner, filled out battery information, filled out pulley and wheel size information and clicked on run detection

Disconnected my Davega and it worked!

You want a hard mount, drill some holes, screw in some bolts/nuts

You have a lot weight on one end, you could get away with the sticky mount if you had a counterweight, but that would be so goofy it’s not really a good idea

I’m sure you could find a 3dp gopro plate mount that would print out nice and mount up after drilling some holes

If you’re not after hard mounting it might just be a reoccurring problem, Unless if you possibly switch to another camera that is smaller and lighter than it wouldn’t have as much of a problem
