I didn’t even know that was a thing that happened before you mentioned it.![]()
What size bearings do evolve standard hubs fit? My zealous have quite a bit of play in the hub. I’ve triple checked everything was tight and proper. Both hubs I ordered have play and I’m not sure why
They are standard bearing size but they are notorious for having loose bearing pockets.
Lame. Would it be considered safe to ride on still with that much play? Does anyone have any ideas on how to remedy this DIY style?
Both hubs I ordered are like this and returning for an exchange sounds like a hassle. Guess I’ll go MBS or Tampa next time around
Mbs also has had sloppy bearing seats. Not sure if the latest batch fixed it.
Seems to be luck of the draw with MBS. Some are nice, some are loose.
I’ve only had 1 of 17 MBS hubs be out of tolerance (hella tight), and it was the one that came to me smushed after hitting a rock at 30 mph so I’m pretty sure that wasn’t the hub’s fault
What’s the best hardware to use for going through the top of the deck and enclosure (eboardsperu)? I’ve got about M6 sized holes along the edges of the box.
I give up on using threaded inserts. @b264 I should have listened to you from the start.
My head tells me use metric but my gut says use standard sk8 hardware.
torx titanium screw, either countersunk or dome head
Metric or American? What legnth? Are there ones with the locking mid shaft that keep the screws still while the nuts are turned?
deck thickness + gasket thickness + enclosure flange thickness + 10mm
dunno what u talking about, its just a long screw, either fully threaded or half threaded
Like on meepo boards I noticed the screws have splines halfway from the head to the midpoint and threaded to the tip so when they’re in the deck you can’t turn the screw only the nut. The splines bite the wood.
As a general principle, I try to tell folks the exact things I wish folks had told me.
“Don’t mess with threaded inserts” being one of those things
Bolts through the deck be like

Some of us rock our boards down curbs and hit bumps at speed. Threaded inserts are just too weak for heavy abuse.
Properly installed inserts(or even better sexbolts) should not have this issue.
Besides the vanity, I hate having to use 2 tools on throughbolt applications.
Could do hammer in inserts from the top
Sexbolts are awesome.
FUCK inserts.
K picking up a couple dozen now. Why don’t they come with splines??
I am soldering some JST pre-crimped cables onto my TB 6380 motors and just wanted to double check something. Torqueboards lists the blue, green, and yellow wires as A, B, C. I am prepping these for a Stormcore 60D which calls for H1, H2, H3. Am I safe to assume that A = H1, B = H2, and C = H3? I can pop the pins out of the connector and move around if necessary, but just checking.
