haha!
I thought the same thing! I think people complained about the packaging last time. Mine arrived in good condition.
I already got my torque arm, the throttle and the motor cable on order.
This thread gave me a good place to start, hopefully the stuff I ordered works, lol
I just need to find a box and build the battery.

Did we ever find a good torque arm solution? There was a lot of confusion at one point…

I just got mine in. This is the link. Seems decent quality, fit is a little loose, but it will work. I wouldn’t run a 3000w motor with it, but for a 500w hub it’s fiiiiiine. I got it pretty fast.

Edit: amazon reviews confirm that the material is suited only for 1000w or less. It seems like stainless steel to me, so that makes sense. If you need an arm for 1000w or more, you should use two or make something custom from carbon steel or titanium.

I got the EBikeling one, easy to drill if needed,

ooh, I like the shorter arm mod. I might have to pony up for a fork like that . I’m really trying not to use the hose clamp :joy:

yeh, I couldn’t get the forks I had to work so got these ones, was stoked that I could use the disk mount hole instead of the hose clamp, this is not a hose!

Wouldn’t the earth reflecting more light make it warmer?

I.e. Solar panels absorbing heat/energy instead of the earth.

I finally finished converting 4 different bikes. 2 of my bikes were converted using the BCH hub wheels with parts from PSWPower, and the other 2 of my bikes were converted with full conversion kits from EBikeling. All of them works good, but I do like the rear-wheel hub drive feel better than front wheel drive BCH hubs.

Of course the BCH hubs with parts from PSWPower were half price, but my other two bikes didn’t have front disc breaks (and one of the bike was a 20" folding bike, so didn’t want to re-lace the motor into smaller wheels either), and I didn’t feel like changing out the front forks. Wish the BCH hubs has dual wall rim compatible with rim brakes also, but hey, it’s a cheap enough price to play around with to convert. It got me interested in EBikes finally.

Can you not do a front wheel conversion with the BCH hubs if you have a rim style brake?

I still have 2 of these hubs laying around I need to make work.

from what he said I guess not.

worst case you only have rear brakes, which is not ideal.

You can always get a cheap fork with a disk brake mount and swap it on I think or just another bike, they aren’t much.

Any fork without a disk brake I’m not sure is up for a hub motor.

I was trying to put it on a bike without disks but It never even fit on so I can’t say about the brakes.

Fork was just too narrow for it?

not for the hub width, but the front wheel I had taken off had a 10mm shaft on one side and a 12mm on the other. I tried to file it but gave up right before it fit on. Got distracted with a pile of esk8 parts I could presume.
