Anyone built an ebike and used an ESK8 ESC?

I’m in the process of gathering parts to create rear-drive hub motor ebike. It will use pretty common parts you can find online - you buy a kit like this one, and that includes a motor controller that looks like this:

Ive got a few Maker FOC Plus ESC’s and i was wondering if they can be used - are they strong enough? The Controllers these ebike kits come with are massive, and my Mini FOc Plus is tiny - here’s a link to the esc as advertised a few years ago on this forum

It does close to 40mph.
Flipsky 75100v2
Twist throttle with regen lever.
It has a key for on/off
Running a 16s9p surron battery

sick. that seat is quite unasuming!
Kinda looking for your average 27/27.5/29 inch hubs though, curious whether they’ll be a simple match for our ESC’s

Not quite an ebike, but I’m running an SKP Solo in my daughters electric scooter. It’s been working flawlessly.

I’m in a similar boat, trying to decide if I want to electrify my old MTB or not. I’ve come to the conclusion that generally VESC controllers have more than enough current capability, but they are short on some e-bike or scooter features in many cases. I’m also curious how polished these kit controller tuning/display interfaces are relative to VESC tool. From what I’ve read thus far, they all have their issues.

is that a hub motor?

I have powered many different e-bikes with vescs. It’s not always perfect, sometimes BLDC runs smoother than foc… etc

Yes, that is a onewheel hub motor
