without battery. 20.5Kg

with battery 10S/20AH 25.2Kg
10 inch Offroad tire
I need to move the esc onto the deck.
Yikes.
Now that is something new (I think)!
How is torque and acceleration with those hub motors?
Hi @Benjo,
My VESC setting is below
Start torque and acceleration is good.
The throttle curve is going to be rather low.
i like the sennheiser box touch
Yes! I always thought of a build like this. Those hoverboard motors don’t spin super fast but they’re torquey as hell. This is a great concept for hub drive MTB
Hi @BluPenguin,
Although the top speed is low(Around 20~25Km/h), it is satisfactory because it is meaningless in offroad.
Powertrain is good because it is simple. The only weak point is the weight.
Dude you have to explain how you got those motors on those trucks! I’d love to do a build like this.
Hi @jack.luis,
you can buy hub motor and those truck by blow link.
However, hub motors are recommend buying a broken hoverboard in your country.
Most motors operate normally. very cheap.
Holy fuck thats slow!
I would also gear towards ~40km/h but in the end Martin is right, it doesn’t matter in real off-road, acceleration and torque are more important.
Ya but that’s jist to slow for my taste.
I can help you with the top speed already used the 6.5 version of these hubs and made them 1.7 times faster.
If you are interested just send me a message
You can change the configuration of the motor.
There are 6 wires inside
and 3 phases
each wire is a start or end of phase .
At the moment they are in Y setup , you need to unsolder them and connect them in Delta setup .
You should do the delta configuration for speed !
