4WD Mountainboard | 10 Inch Hoverboard HUB Motor | VESC4 | Trampa HolyPro deck

Enjoy , it looks comlicated first but in fact is really simple .
You will not loose the torque because these motors have a huge amount already.

What Range and speed are you getting

Hi @Dirtynunfishing,

The distance was not measured. The speed is up to 23Km on a flat with 12s battery.
Originally, this motor is optimized a 15s battery, so the speed is very low with 12s battery.

To reduce the weight of the board, I changed to 6.5 inch motor+ 6inch hub + 10 inch tire.

Here are the motors I would put on it

That’s definitely a project I had in mind as well…nicely done

Hi @Esk84life ,

This motor is heavy. It is too heavy when applied with four wheels. So i am improving in the direction of weight reduction.

@Martin Very nice experimentations!! How is riding 10 inches vs 8 inches on the street? Can you describe how you make pneumatic tires fit on hoverboard hub motors? What parts and tires should I buy? Any links? Very nice stuff by the way!

Hi @JulienB ,

The feeling of a big tire riding is not good.
It’s good off-road, but not good on regular roads.

My method shoud make wheel hub adapter.
I don’t recommend it.

If you refer to the attached link below, there is a way to install it without a separate adapter.

Hi there! I’m currently in the process of building a mountainboard with the same 10inch motors you first used and I have a few questions if you’re willing to answer

First of all, did you have to open up the front wheel motors (of your first build) to change the tire?

And second question, how did those tires fit? I found them online and i see they’re 3inch wide while the originals are about 2.1inch wide.

Thank you!

Hi @gardo,

Q1 => No. You can change the tire without opening motor.
It will be hard work. You must use tire remover stick 3ea(green stick on the picture).
Q2 => Most tire possible fit if matched tire’s inner size.
If too much wide tire, very hard work to fit.
Good luck!
