3-Link Truck Designs

1 link is the axle heim
1 link is one tie rod
ditto
=3

Right but the baseplate is also a link. It might be static but it’s also a link.

Try googling 4 bar linkages.

The ā€œframeā€ still counts as a kinematic link.

the key you’re missing is the ā€œgroundsā€ are connected by a baseplate or an axle

Count the links…

You had to edit an image taken from the 4 bar linkage Wikipedia page to prove your point, But sure, Your probably right. You win.

I’m just trying to spread some engineering knowladge, didn’t come here to argue about semantics.

i hate arguing, i didn’t think we were… I just didn’t subscribe to your thoughts… perhaps I could have been a little less abrupt… but i honestly happen to know what i am talking about…

que 'cera or however the french say it…

@wikipedia disagrees with you

I don’t know if you wish to carry on the discussion or just let it pass… either way is ok with me… but seriously you linked a four ā€œbarā€ not 4 link …shall we continue or should I let dawgs that are tired stay there?

Damn man you can’t read or something?

A four-bar linkage , also called a four-bar , is the simplest movable closed-chain linkage. It consists of four bodies, called bars or links,

okey goofey boy… we’re actually talking 3 link here… the goofey ductape guys posted the 4-bar pix… convinced he is the smartest guy in this thread and he alone knows a three-link is a 4 bar… read moar…

koolio… you seem like a fairly intelligent mammal…
read thru this thread and if you think the control mechanism, (discussed) is a 3-link mechanism or a 4-bar design?

I got half a beer left i’ll wait…

Sorry, no time to argue with weasel who tries to weasel out of arguments with random excuses

And he was right regarding baseplate as a link if looked from physics/engineering perspective but maybe it is too much for your intelligent primates brains

whaaaa the bad man called me names on the internet…

the axle heim is one control link… the rods are the other control links… i count three using all my fingers on one hand…
