Helical gear ratios are not as extensive though… and no prime numbers
this…
I wanted quiet helicals…
but I love this noise.
Is there a reverse calculator?
Drives are now available for purchase on www.mooneskate.com
Kegel adapters
Any reason to go 10mm shaft, vs 8mm shaft for the pinions?
Also, fyi @moon , small mistake on the description of the “Wheel Gear Type” text:
Please note that the POM Helical gears and POM Spur Gears are in BETA testing.
I assume that was supposed to say “Steel Spur Gears are in BETA”
Purchased #1265 thanks moon!
Thanks for the correction I did leave this to the last minute ![]()
8mm shaft motors let you run the drives in the shortest gearing offerings like 9T-8mm MOD 2 spur gears.
one data pt -
I went with 47:10 straight cut POM spur. For the lower weight, and the ideal ratio for me.
By my calculations (170kv, 30 wh/km, 75% efficiency) this gives
- 15mi range
- 27.5 ftlbs torque
- 32mph max loaded speed (200mm wheels)
- 26.5mph max loaded speed (155mm wheels)
@Moon Currently done about 400km on the batch 5 drives, looking into the helicals (even tho I love the sound of straight cut) the 10t helical is that for fixed position on batch 5 or does it need manual tuning, also the wheel gears do they come in pairs or single ?
Needs manual tuning
Buy 2 of these
And one of this
Doesn’t work with batch 4 or I would be all over it
I forgot which batch I got mine from, @moon is there something that would help me identify it?
You have batch 2
@moon I notice that the beta Hypertrucks clamps are available. Has there been any update to those? Are they working now? Should they not be ordered until further notice?
stop making me want more things.
i’m settled on the noise. … I think. man quiet is nice too. damn you.
I ordered them in this batch
@moon , what’s the shortest shaft length that you think would work with these?
I.e. a set of TB motors cut for BN drives at 22mm
Wanted to know exactly this as well
For batch 5 onwards 25.5-26mm is the recommended length.
Max shaft length is 26mm
You might be able to get away with using shorter shafts but I tried it myself.
