£260 - ALL TERRAIN MOON DRIVES

batch 2 is 24mm but is it max? what’s the minimum length can it be 22mm?

As long as the motor shaft does reach through 2/3 of the pinion it shouldn’t be a problem at all.
With keyway and grub screw you could probably get away even with half the length covered.
2mm less than the max length should be just fine.

Did some wipe down of the grease to inspect the geardrives after about 500+km they are after closer inspection, looking just like new, no significant wear on anything cant honestly not even under a lamp tell they have been used.

Only thing taking a beating is the outer case when i tried 150mm wheels ( too little clearance for curbs) but with 175mm wheels 0 issues and the V-Ring is looking a bit torn  , will soon switch up to bigger motors (from 6374) and helical geardrives from the newer batches  .

Sorry if this has been answered already, but what material do you recommend printing the bash guards with? ABS? MJF (rubber-like)?

What length/ pitch screws are you using to mount them?

Thanks for any help, ordered a few days ago and can’t wait for mine to come in.

You can just use the screws that came with, personally I’ve tried PLA, Resin and PETG, just buy a high quality filament thats impact resistant, they will break eventually but then its just time to replace them.

are you sure you got your calculations right I run 47/12 (175mm wheels), 170kv and real life data for me is 18 wh/km if I ride hard during harsh conditions and 13wh/km during chill riding.

Just depends on your inputs. For consumption I’m assuming a conservative 30 wh/km but that’s completely dependent on your terrain, powertrain, and riding style. 30wh/km is entirely possible in the woods on 8" tires.

Has there been any official word on the status of the Hypertruck clamps?

Hi, they are in production. About 3 weeks away

Hey,
This means that 9T helical is only 8mm ?

I mean that is possible in a calculator but real life conditions from real life metrics usually tell a bit different story  hence why METR is awesome

Not really sure what you’re getting at. Congrats on your low consumption, but these aren’t imaginary numbers.

From a recent thread:

Again, completely depends on inputs, board, terrain, rider. Real life conditions vary wildly, especially if you’re running slick tires on pavement vs knobby tires in the forest.

Is it bad to run motor detection with the wheel adapter on the gear drive?

Doesn’t make a meaningful difference.

Anyone wants to trade a set of 10mm ID 11T pinions for 8mm ID 9T? I can send anywhere but you have to be willing to ship either to me directly or to the US.

First time that i set up my gear drives i used this grease in the photo, what do you guys think? Good grease for gear drives or should i look for another one?
I should mention that my gear drives grab a lot of dust, it seems the grease is getting out between the gearbox lid and the gearbox case. This weekend i’m going to open the gear drives to check everything (+500km done) and it would be great to have feedback from you guys about the grease.

Does this grease state what it is made of, silicone, lithium, as that’s the biggest factor for deciding of how appropriate it is for esk8

It states that is made with lithium but it seems od to me that my gear drives get some kind of oil all over them wich make them catch all kind of dirt. I clean them and in just one ride they become really nasty.
I still didn’t open them yet but i almost bet then when i do there’s not going to be much grease there…
