Definitely don’t drill into the spine. Don’t have other ideas though. Perhaps rivnuts? But not sure how they’d handle the sheer forces
@tuckjohn Oh yeah maybe but I’d have to drill the hole out anyways for riv nutz. But I also don’t see why dremeling the spine out a little would be a bad thing?
Flip the screw… use a socket head if you have to. You’d need a split washer under the nut for articulation though.
I shaved the nut with a file. Took a corner off kinda. Only had to do one of mine when making the rear dead. Might be an option for ya. Shoved it in a vice and filed it till it worked.
Doesn’t go in easily? Can’t say I’ve had the same issue. Short of that if you use the billet axle clamps you’ll get a flat angle in the middle hole
@sugandese Meaning I’ll get a dead steer point in the mid hole if I use the billet aluminum axle clamps? Hmmm
They lower the axle side so the angle will be flatter but second hole on the frame is a notch further away from the pivot axis so I’m not sure how that works/compares…
I’m roadside here but angle is relatively flat…
Saying this I probably wouldn’t recommend it. I’ve had nothing but problems with stability on my board.
I notice you’ve got green bushings. White in the front, I presume?
You could try Red/White with a slightly higher preload. Sometimes straight-line instability can be caused by a lack of “center of travel preload”, giving the board a “walking” feeling at high speed.
Yeah I’ve swapped back and forth a few times didn’t make a lot of difference tbh. Just found myself over tightening the red white bushings. Green white with flat bushing nuts feels good for short track so I just don’t bother riding it past 40 anymore
As far the very last bits I’ll need am debating waiting for this Zbms to be back in stock. Or just purchasing a LLT bms for now… I’m kinda thinking I could swap to a zbms Later if needed
The Reason why I’ve been waiting to purchase this is I’ve seen it used in other builds but I’m not sure why it’s being chosen over a LLT bms…?
I need to source copper from some retailer as I will likely utilize it in a similar way as this picture shows.
(Edit) I did find what looks to be a Similar BMS to the ZBMS
Just some context for where that BMS likely came from, do what you will with that info.
I haven’t used a ZBMS, my only experience is with LLT blah blah blah grain of salt. I believe the primary difference is cost VS. polish.
LLT BMS’s are made to be used among a pretty wide variety of things, and are therefore not perfectly tailored to an ESK8 battery. though they operate on a larger scale than basically any esk8 company which contributes to their ability to sell at a very low cost.
Zbms was designed by a university student, which is to say “designed with a lot more passion and skill than development money” it’s an excellent BMS IMO however is more costly than LLT in exchange for being immediately tailored to ESK8 use with less fuss and better polish.
Im Going 2 Email Zbattery Solutions and see what the wait time is like for the Zbms to be back in stock. Im willing to support a College student more than LLT. LLT is great as I have one in my first DIY but I like the idea of trying something different.
Thank you for conjuring the secrets from the archive @Egtscs
it is very Much Appreciated.
Ive got a small handfull of zbms dm me if you need one quick
I wasn’t sure where the relevant place was but this seemed close.
Tronic is selling 2x X12 24s or 30s for $598. Only approx 80$ or so more than an SKP Solo (edit: not true maths wrong, $180 more) or similar to little foccer while twice the power. Only 1cm longer too iirc.
solo is only $400 tho… it’s $560 with the 3ds top box. still a good deal tho
While we’re talking options, I love my G300s. They’re smaller, cheaper, and more rugged then the x12’s
Would love to pair 4 of those up with 4 of these Scorpion HKII-7050-330KV - Scorpion Power System
My bad, stupid mistake idk where I lost track converting the small eur/usd difference. Thank you
