1st build, need deck, battery, and remote.

I’m looking at the OMNI 3K CF deck. $459.

Got a quote for 14s4p 21700 cells, 100A Bms, with Samsung 50s for $650.

Thinking about the Flipsky VX4 Pro remote. $85.

Trying to go with something that is plug and play with the least amount of modifications. I was thinking if I purchased the deck and battery from the same company, they would be compatible and have less chances of fitment issues.

All productive feedback is welcomed!

Parts I have:

  1. D100s ESC
  2. (2) 63100 190kV
  3. 16 T gear
  4. 60 T wheel pulley
  5. 15” DKP trucks
  6. 175mm Pneumatic tires

Sounds like a pretty solid plan. My only change would be the DKP trucks, but that’s really more of a personal preference thing. Not the most stable at 25+ but some people like the carviness.

Thanks for the feedback! A few more “stamp of approvals” and I’m making my order hopefully be the end of the week. I’ve been without a board for months and ready to ride again. I certainly don’t have the :peanuts:s to go that fast.

Do you already have motor mounts for your trucks? Do you know if the 63100’s will have clearance to fit next to each other on those trucks/mounts?

63100 seems like a lot more motor than really necessary. 6384s are a more common motor size and unless you get non flipsky motors the stator size doesn’t increase enough to really provide a higher amperage rating - iirc flipsky only rates the 63100 5ish amps more than the 6384. Maybe it could get you a little more thermal mass? Hopefully someone who has played more with those motors in a direct comparison can chime in?

These 2 homies are right. I give my mushroom stamp of approval

Yeah get the 6384. Larger sizes tend to have more issues over time.

Good to go.

Dude.

Are you set on a carbon deck?

Have you seen the Tomiboi decks?

@tomiboi makes some amazing stuff…

My understanding is the 63100 yields better torque. Speed is not my goal. If I can get everything together and just ride it, then can determine what my likes and dislikes are.

I’ve had really good luck with Flipsky 63100s. They’re screamers, but they perform well when they get hot.

Honestly, for budget trucks and lower speeds DKPs aren’t all that bad, I’ve been quite surprised with them on my Cavity CS1. Though you do need to play around with their setup more and allow yourself significant time at lower speeds to get used to them and build up the confidence slowly.

Definitely put in Riptide or Venom bushings into the DKPs. Make the boardside kingpins quite dead, then adjust roadside kingpins to your liking. Stock bushings are usually quite bad.

When you decide you need more speed though than about 28-30 mph, get some dualities.
