Maiden voyage today with the new guts and trucks, and it did not disappoint! I got lucky I think (I’m certainly not going to say I’m experienced enough to know what I’m doing) and the way it’s set up right out of the gate feels awesome.

90A & 87A, same setup I have on my SRB trucks, feels like it’ll be a great fit for my not so slender self.

I wasn’t sure if my brakes would be strong enough but considering it tossed me off the board the first time I hit the brakes hard, I think I’m good there. Plenty of power on tap being 18S. My D100S dooooes seem to have the weird wet noodle/limp dick thing going on when braking to a full stop, where it kind of lets go around 1-2mph. Not a major issue, just dumb. I changed from Hyst reverse to Sport Reverse® (@jack.luis) and it seemed to eliminate that annoyance from what I can tell.

Turning radius feels nice- can squeak out a U-turn in a normal road width (no shoulders on the road). Similar to the SRB they seem to want to dig in and want to turn harder the harder you go, which is really cool.

I don’t have enough time on them to give a true A vs B opinion but my early thought is that these are a fantastic street option. I haven’t raced so I can’t say there… hopefully this spring we’ll get something going. But they are a very predictable ride and seem to react just how I’d want. They don’t seem as ankle-intensive as my SRB trucks. Will report back on higher speed tests as I get used to it and do them but it’s also middle of winter here in MA so weather is not exactly cooperative all the time.

Shut up self and post pics and vids. Ok :upside_down_face:

Also forgot to mention I have a rattle in one of my front wheels I need to look at (non driven wheels getting jealous for attention I guess). Have some @tomiboi Hubba hubs arriving any day now too I’m gonna try out!

It looks killer dude!!! I mentioned elsewhere that the wheels looked too big, but seeing the profile, they look perfectly in proportion with the build. Super clean looking build, well done!

I love it  That thing is legit.

Gorgeous… how much clearance does it have?

Thank you! That elsewhere is a scary place…

Like you mentioned though, I wish I could move the toe clip forward more to take advantage of another few inches :eggplant: but because of the deck drop I couldn’t really see a way to mount it further up easily. I haven’t given up though

Popped the enclosure today (so much fun! Highly recommend!) and swapped out the regular peasant wire braid for some fancy ass TechFlex Insultherm sleeving. I got ½” black and it fits everything great. Thank you for the suggestion Evan(s) @Evwan @Shadowfax @jack.luis my friends, family, my wife and of course the great man upstairs, @BillGordon

While the enclosure is off I took the opportunity to explore new holes and move my Tomiboi foot clip up here. Some of you pointed out that I was losing valuable real estate on my deck having it where it was, and I agree. I mounted it where it was because of the deck drop being in the way, but @zero_ads inspired me with his Odashi deck and I went full weird with it and mounted further up. I designed and printed a TPU shim to go under one end since it sat at a weird angle. Seems to work great so far. Only tested it in my ugly work pants and socks but I’m sure I’ll be happy with it. I’ll silicone the old holes and will be putting some Vicious grip where my feets go. Will hopefully come up with some kind of cool design like @sugandese. Love that deck.

Out with the old and in with the new. This thing is so nice… I’m really glad I upgraded. Not cheap by any stretch, but having telemetry + Bluetooth + datalogging/mapping all in one device/app is fantastic. Plus it only uses one UART port so I can use my whole other entire gigantic 8-pin UART port for my 3 PWM Puck wires

Got it all set up in the app and such but will be a couple weeks til I can give it a proper rip… waiting for the new Newbee hangers to arrive, along with the new 4GS setup.

Also going to be swapping over to some Hubba hubs cause they give me a chubba chub. Will probably put some knobby 8” tires on my MBS wheels and have them as a stunt double set for either this board or my mountainboard. Hubbas are a bit wider than the MBS as well which is nice

This position looks heeeeaaaps better :ok_hand:

Yeah I can get my toe into the corner of the deck now… definitely glad I took the advice from all you guys on that

It’s alive… again!

I was waiting patiently for my new Triplelink hangers to get here and they arrived last week along with my fresh new set of 4GS drives.

I took my time setting it up, making sure all hardware got proper threadlocker on it. I’m loving this Vibratite stuff. Super easy to apply and works great. Tastes delicious too

I tested forward mounting the motors so they’d be under the deck. It would work, but I’d rather have the smaller metal beak of the hammock potentially getting debris pinged off it rather than my motor cans, so out back they went. I was able to find a bit better angle for the drives than what I had before. I tested them higher up, but the deck hit the motors and the hammock hit the motors as well. Everything is free and clear where they are now.

Swapping the rod hardware for L/R instead of R/R made setup super quick and easy. Highly recommend.

After riding around on my mountainboard with Boardnamics straight cuts, I forgot how freakin quiet these 4GS drives are. So quiet and you can really hear the motors over the gears. Love it.

Letting all the threadlocker and retaining compound cure for a few days before taking it out for a rip.

how do you like running the cone in the back over a barrel type?

So far, so good. I don’t have a ton of miles on this yet so I will comment back when I get more riding time and my thoughts on them
