I’m selling my MBoards Interstellar 2.0+. It’s hands down the best board I’ve ever owned, but this hobby has led me to splurge on boards that are more than I actually need. My main use for a board is just commuting to and from campus, and this one is overkill for that. It’s unbelievably fast, but I only ride at about 20 mph on campus, so I think it’s time to let it go. I’ll switch back to my Backfire and use the extra money to help pay my tuition.
The board is mostly stock, except for the Shredlights I’ve added and the 90a cone bushings I swapped in instead of barrels since I’m a lighter rider. It comes with 2 SL-300+ front headlights and 2 Meepo taillights (currently not mounted). I’m also including a set of moderately used Mad Wheels V2 with 38T pulleys and belts.
Feel free to reach out if you have any questions!
Specs:
Motors: 6485 173kv Radium Motors

Dropped again to $1300
I need it sold by this week
Shipping from Phoenix AZ, would prefer meeting up in the valley.
What’d be on your docket to upgrade? I think the interstellar’s electronics powertrain is pretty solid. Would be able to do decently enough in a race, I think.
Not to mention that your 12s4p pack is a larger battery (thus can probably produce more power) then the MLR’s 16s2p🙊
I probably don’t need any upgrades for the electronics but I definitely need new trucks and a deck. Being 6’2" and with size 13 shoes, my stance on this deck is tiny and both my rear heel and toes are off the board when I stand on it . It’s still a major possibility to upgrade this but I’d have to invest a bunch into other stuff as well, like wider rims, linnpower race tires, possibly a gear drive? I’ve still got mixed opinions on what to do with this.
My two cents;
I love my hubba hubbs- all the metal rims are more expensive and heavier than them. Hot take, most of them aren’t worth it imo.
You can do a lot with a belt drive, look at Hoyt and Radium. Practically speaking, Gear drives are more of a durability and maintenance thing(power wise, they’re only “needed” for like 150+ motor amp builds)
Linpower slicks are great, but so are NOVAs. depending on the surface and temperature, NOVAs can even have more grip then Lins sometimes. Especially if NOVAs are on stretched hubs.
Even if you decided to do all those upgrades to your board- you’d still come out below the price difference between your board and an MLR🙊
I agree with all the points made so far. One more thing, if you want to be in this hobby for a while, there is a lot to be said about not being locked into proprietary parts. Most people gravitate from prebuilt to DIY, not the other way around. Meepo’s board is going to be harder to upgrade anything down the road.
I think best to upgrade around the most valuable parts of your Interstellar: the battery, the (really capable) VESC, and the Reacher motors. IMO, going from that to MLR is a downgrade. Hell, you won’t even be able change the remote to something else.
Get a long deck/enclosure from someone like Tomiboi to suit your stance, and if you really want 3-link experience, just get the 3-link trucks. Gear drives add unnecessary weight unless you are mudslinging, and lock you in to one gear ratio. Personally I went from gears to belts and am much happier.
Then you could recuperate some cost from the Interstellar’s deck/enclosure, the trucks, or more likely, keep them until when you inevitably build another board
someone is selling one from newbee… to save some cash or buy a set of dualities like @tuckjohn said… (He should stop promoting them until i buy my set… they will always be sold out thanks to him )
dont think you would need to make that many upgrades like the others have mentioned.
Fair enough. This board is really impressive for its electronics. As much as I’d love to build a proper race board, it’s a big investment for a college student. I’m not sure if I should say this yet, but I’ve been in touch with a company that makes race boards, and they might have one for me to race. Nothing is confirmed yet, but if it works out, I can use the money from this to help pay for my tuition. If it falls through, I’ll put up individual components up for sale and invest in a deck and some dualities.
Either way, I’m going to try my best to race at the con this year. I hope to see you all there too!
Piggybacking off everyone else, also +1 for Dualities.
I actually got a second set because I believe those trucks can legitimately compete against 3-link trucks. There’s something nice about having a daily street rider that is fully race capable that works for me.
Some advice for your set up since you’re racing. Consider switching to 66T Board Bumper pulleys from the stock 58T pulleys and try 6in tires instead of 7in. Both are available from the Mboards site. I also advise you bump your motor amps if you find yourself wanting for more torque. Best of luck!
