Ordered an Alien Power Systems Remote and when it came in the power button immediately broke and the trigger was way too soft.
I haven’t been able to get in contact with them, so I fixed the power button and threw a different spring in it to make the trigger feel better.
When I finally went to set the thing up in VESC tool, the throttle didn’t produce any variance in PPM mapping. So it seems like I’m out $70.
Im looking for another one or some guts/a receiver to give it another try.

Why are you set on the APS remote when it seems like such garbage?

I just want to give it a try. And maybe this one time is a fluke. Giving them the benefit of the doubt

I think that’s up to APS to prove. Ordering another w/o getting any support on the first would be a bad move imo, but it’s your money.

I’m definitely not ordering another. If I don’t hear back from them I’ll file a claim .
Was just seeing of anybody happened to have one laying around

APS might have sent you the wrong type of receiver for your remote. That’s what happened with mine. Bruno swapped it with another box that looked identical and it started working for me.
Where did you get the spring from? Looking to replace mine too.

Jesus well I’ve already dismantled the thing. Hopefully they make it right. I’m more than a little pissed haha
I just shortened the spring that was in there

I could imagine your annoyed. Customer services can be a bit slow, but he normally comes through in the end. The other thing to check is that the vesc is connected to the correct channel on the receiver.
Was it easy to shorten the spring?
I tried both channels. The also dont have any information about channels and ppm plug channel.
I didn’t think so. But I bet you can find a million and one of this springs with more tension on amazon.
I hope so, I can reassemble the thing, but I’d rather them send a new one since it was their mistake

I have an APS remote that I’m no longer using. Since I fell with it once it gets cutouts. Or it’s just the receiver <-> vesc cable, not sure. Shipping to Australia is like 20$ though

This doesn’t tell you what channel on receiver to use or anything. Its really not a very good manual. First thing i did when I got the remote was read this.

I’m asking about the throttle trim. What tool do you use to turn it?
