If you use one, curious what everyone (that films) uses. Particularly 360 cameras. Name your pick and why.
Eyeball connected to brain connected… Has some insane high quality video, but the playback doesn’t work.
Honestly though the one time I recorded I just used a regular old GoPro… Nothing like that special 360 stuff!

I have a GoPro hero 8 and the video quality is amazing! I guess its not as good as a 360 cameras for rides but the hero 8 is super stable and it can be used as a normal camera for building videos etc aswell which a 360 cannot really.

I hate those 360. They make the World look wird, and unrealistic.

If I were to buy a camera this second there is no doubt in my mind that I would buy an insta 360 One R Twin Edition. It comes with one 4K camera AND a 360 camera that are hit swappable.
I would not buy a GoPro hero 8 unless you were thinking of doing some extreme stuff like going down mountain bike trails… The GoPro max is cool and all but not for the price compared to the ONE R…

Gopro Hero 7 Black as well. Does a great job of keeping the video steady. 360 cameras are great for third person views, but the distortion is just too much for me. Often you can only see the rider and not the environment because it looks like a ball…

I use the Insta360 One X and the GoPro 8 Black. It depends on the ride which I’m using. If I’m filming just by myself I’m using the Insta, especially on group rides to capture more. If I have somebody filming me, or I am recording somebody else I prefer the GoPro. And sometime I just use the GoPro as a helmet cam. So there is no “better” it really depends on the situation or what you want.

Between GP8 and Insta 1R , GP is better bet since it has years of development and testing. Insta just pushed this product too fast with some problems that constantly require firmware updates. But whatever the camera, if you don’t know how to shoot and edit videos, the end result will not be pleasant even with professional camera.

I just bought a brand new GoPro hero 6 black for $160 on eBay. Not really looking to shoot ride footage but to record me busting my ass or when the road rage gets real. Already had 3 people try and fight me and just recently was chased by a car full of people trying to rob me.

Gopro Session on the chin. Battery lasts about a 2.5 hour ride @1080p 30fps and its the smallest and lightest gopro. quality is pretty good except dusk and night. Charges fast which is important because the battery is tiny.

My GoPro HD (Yeah, the first one that recorded HD video), probably more than 10 years old, it’s a bit heavy to hold in a selfie stick so I hardly record

Hero 4, 5, or the one after which is actually just called the session now and moved away from the cube shape?
I have the hero 4 session but it never lasted me much more than an hour recording time. Also I crashed a few times with it and the last time I broke it.
