It’s the cube one. A generation or two ago. Yah the only way to have enough battery is to stay under 30fps full HD. Seems pretty robust and I’ve takes some nice faceplants with it.
the Session 4 is awesome because of the small form factor. works great while riding, sucks for anything else because it gets piping HOT!
Yeah it did got hot.
Love the form factor. Wish they would’ve stuck to it.
Loving it. I only have to get used to being a bit more careful. I tried the lens domes in the beginning because of this but it sucks to keep those dust free so I’ve been a bit more balsy now.
My stolen GoPro 7 black I would just hold behind me low to the ground and wouldn’t really care when it hit the road.
(Stolen on last year’s Paris event when I stupidly mistakenly left it behind in the loo only to find it gone when coming back for it).
It was a birthday gift from my wife and mother in law too so that extra sucked.
You can hear it hitting the road sometimes.
I have another question: What are you guys doing (if anything) to eliminate that horrific wind noise on the one x? I’ve been thinking of putting a fuzzy sock over the mic holes or something, but I don’t want to do anything to mess with the stitching between hemispheres.
I’ve been covering it up with YouTube music. I can’t fucking stand wind noise, or any kind of mic distortion, its just painful.
It’s a lot better on the max. If you have it on auto it will switch to another mic which is not in the wind when it’s working right.
YouTuber Ronnie Sarmiento has a solution where he hacked EarPods to just use the mic and clip it to his shirt and record sound that way with a dead cat over it if I recall correctly.
anything involving dead cats is clearly the solution. I’m sure my neighbors won’t miss just one if it results in me producing better video.
You’re going to like this then.
Are they really called dead cats? Ok. New to me.
That’s just sick.
Gtfo.
Insta 360 one X
+1 for insta360 one x, the stabilization is a killer feature, then being able to reframe after the fact.
You don’t in camera, esp 360 cameras. Need another mic with a dead cat then sync in post.
@Arzamenable do you have a helmet mount setup worked out for the Rylo?
Looking into getting one, and idk if the ‘adventure case’ is necessary
It’s fantastically easy to chip ur lens on the rylo. Any Gopro mount will work with rylo
Nothing. The only way to eliminate wind noise onthe Insta 360 is to not use its audio at all and instead carry a seperate muffled mic with a better recording device like a small tascam or something. The mic is so close to things you need and the device is so small that it can’t be reasonably covered. If they had simply put a mic jack on it, things would be a lot different.
