I did this a while back, but on the motor pulley
I didn’t run it for long, but don’t see why it wouldn’t work, you just need to get the tolerances tight so it won’t move, and accept that if the ordinal pulley is plastic you will probably ruin it either by just inserting or when trying to remove
But I do run 3D printed pulleys in my wheels, and while they wear down, it’s not much, lasts a long time, and if I feel it is worn too much I just print another one
