10-15 degrees of movement would most likely make every noticable difference.since the truck is mounted well behind the pivot, stability should not be much of an issue. Bushings would also help increase the stability
Chappy still in the game.
Will be interesting to see how the pivots hold up with no kingpin or bushing support to the hanger. Esk8 trucks tend to take more abuse than push trucks. Roll the dice.
Yes, this will be the AT home run.
Plans of an adaptation of this is on the horizon.

I can plainly see the mechanical benefits of that setup and I can imagine how it will move and turn without any issue, looks great.
Is there a trade-off? Will it turn as much and be as stable? This looks like something we should be trying.
Add an adjustable pivot plate and you have endless “baseplate” angles. Use spherical bearings and it becomes precesion. You can make it rake less or neg rake. Best part will be what I’m about to do to it. Gonna b an AT game changer
I hope you succeed so that we all get something awesome and I hope that you fail so that I can rub your smug face in your defeat.
Good times

Or we could put channel trucks on everything. No thanks
Such a tease.
Or we could learn to ride channel trucks.
yeah, ok…

progress meng!!!
using your logic mankind would never advance…
take for example the two cavemen sitting around the fire, one says, hey man I have this idea where we can use mecanical avantage to propel objects faster and further to kill game more efficiently… and the other cave d00d says… nah… throwing rocks is fine if you know how to do it…
Oh okay.
Think you’re going a bit extreme there mr. Kook.
Chanel trucks are rocks now? Ancient technology.
Sorry if I’m not holding the weight of someone’s opinion on channel trucks who thinks they’re going to Street face at 25 miles per hour because they don’t know how to ride.
I luv my channel trux, but I’m not above seeing advancement in esk8 truck technology…
Nor am i.
But I also don’t dismiss what we currently have just because of my lack of experience.
there’s another brand in Europe that caught my eye, but I cannot find a comparison between the Smoothstar and the YOW
Just ordered YOW and Waterborne for science.
Will give you guys an review after getting them under one of my ESK8s.
heard very bland feedback about waterborne though… had to sit through 10mins (2x speed) for this review of the the waterborne as he also compares it to the smoothstar.
You don’t think that wheels, deck and trucks had an influence an his verdict?
I like YOW and Waterborn (just rode YOW so far) over the others because you are not limited to the stock decks and trucks. I rather use my own trucks and deck and test multiple setups until I find the right combination for me. I also rode Carver and some other surfskates and ATM I like YOW most. But I think Waterborne could be also interesting for us ESK8r since it should be more stable than other surfskates.
Nah, I think he’s ridden enough to have a solid enough opinion (he is very long-winded though). And when he refers to the smoothstars, I think he was also from the period when smoothstar was selling their thrusters separately, till they decided to not do that and perhaps thought it was more lucrative by selling the whole decks. Like you - I was really about to put my money down, till I found out I had to buy the whole deck as well… not worth it.
I would believe the perfect surf setup would be the new penny barefoot combined with a smoothstar.
