Voyage Systems: Megan and Minnie

I have a QOL feature request for the Metr App.

In vesc tool, this is how you configure the CAN message rates. “CAN Messages Rate X” sets what status messages are sent (as I’m sure you’re familiar)

In the metr app, there’s no checkboxes. Instead, it’s a single numeric value.

I assume this is because vesc is bitfield packing the Boolean values into a single integer variable(or something), and vesctool has the checkboxes hard-coded for those variables. Having 4 messages enabled is 00001111 = 15. Just a guess tho

Specific toggles/dropdown for these would be really nice

@janpom, my Megan’s internal storage is full, but I can’t sync the records in metr. Any suggestions for debugging steps?

On Megan, open the menu and select “Upload records”. That should upload whatever can still be uploaded. The 100% flash use typically indicates the filesystem got corrupted, which may happen occasionally. If the “Upload records” fails repeatedly or if the use still shows 100% after the upload succeeded, you will want to reformat the filesystem. Simply select “Format filesystem” from the menu. This won’t affect your Megan settings. Only the not-uploaded records will be lost (I hope you didn’t have too many).

Great! I’ll try this when I have a chance.

Nbd, probably not too many records. I have high fidelity turned on, so it fills up pretty fast

Problem solved! :+1:

since the last firmware update the app is crashing even before selecting the board. I have uninstalled and installed again many times.

It’s a shame, as i was using the watch to ride quite often. Can you guys take a look at it? Thank you.

I just found what was the issue and fixed it! Please update the firmware on your Megan / Minnie to v0.27.6 (beta).

Sorry man, still the same issue. I did update firmware and reinstalled app

App crashes when finds the board. See:

Also, on Android Voyage app, the buttons Dashboard, Account and Settings are a bit misplaced and now impossible to click withou hitting Android navigation buttons.

Something has changed in the latest Android that made some apps behave like this.

I’m attempting to receive my Minnie + GPS Module and UPS told me there’s 177$ in additional duty charges that I need to pay, which is insane. This isn’t Voyage’s fault of course, but do y’all have a HS/HTS number for classifying your parts? I’m setting up my dispute with UPS now.

Thank you for the video. Might be the problem is something else. Usually after starting the app on watch it first asks for permissions to discover and connect to BLE devices, then you get presented with a list of found devices. Does this happen? Or does it crash right away? What version of the app do you have on your watch?

Verified it works great now with the Apple Watch.

We contacted UPS about very high import fee charges. Since we are in contact with Swedens branch of UPS, they could not provide us immediate answer and told it will take time to get some explanation. It would be great if you folks from USA could contact UPS and receive some specification / invoice explaining why the fees are so high. Our suspicion is that UPS does not convert currency (SEK) we put in our digital customs declaration and reads that as USD. I think we will change that just in case and start putting USD in declarations for the future orders. Sorry everyone for the trouble. We will try to get this resolved.

So tragedy - my screen looks dead. The rest of the unit works fine (telemetry, logging, connectivity). Any way to just replace the screen, or is it too integrated?

Replacing only the screen is possible but it’s not an easy soldering task and it’s not clear whether that would be enough.

Better to replace the full motherboard including the display:

I got just the thread for you;

Definitely takes a some soldering skill, but it’s not too bad

If you decide to replace the motherboard, I’ll buy the broken one off you😜

I think @BenjaminF is local to you. He could easily do that solder job if you bribe him with bread crumbs

Isn’t @lidocaineus in VT, or NH still?
