Usually around 5-9 and then it goes green. Maybe you can change position of your GPS module? How is it mounted?
Its a Prototipo, so its mounted inside the carbon fiber enclosure. I dont have much space, but will try to move a bit. Currently is near phase wires, maybe i can move a bit far away
Thatâs probably your issue. CF works like a Faraday cage
Do you know if i disable gps and make it work like metr-pro used to?
No, it doesnât work that way. Youâll need to put the GPS module somewhere it can see the sky. It wonât work inside CF enclosure.
You should be able to configure the timeout in system settings on your watch. By default Wear OS moves the active app to background, but you can override that.
So you mean this wont work for any type of esk8 that has enclosure below the deck? âŚ
You can keep Minnie in the enclosure but the GPS module needs to be installed somewhere on top of the deck.
- youâre basically selling Megan then
The GPS module is the only thing that needs visibility to the sky. The rest can be internal.
not really. this applies to ALL GPS modules
they are very sensitive to interference and conductive materials as they will block signals from the satellites.
Thanks guys for the support - i understand - i was just with a different expectation about minnie.
It does, just not with Carbon fiber.
Unfortunately its the CF enclosure thats giving you the issue.
I set my mini inside my deck and enclosure same as you and had to do a little modification to the deck to get it to see sky : i used a Dremel tool to cut a pocket for the gps antenna into the deck not under my normal foot placement. I removed almost all the material except the last ply and epoxied the antenna facing the sky. The hole is small but i absolutely potted the antenna in there with 5min epoxy. Works good now and can just barely tell its there until the grip went on
@BenjaminF @xsynatic @poastoast I did some fixes to the Metr app for processing ridelogs fetched over BLE. May not cover all the cases, but should hopefully be less empty ridelogs. Please get the beta version of the app, if you are not on it already and let me know if it keeps happening, will investigate further.
To get the beta version for Android:

For iOS:
Thanks a lot man; it helped a lot. Still trying to figure it out how to do it
Tbf, you could run it in a cf enclosure no dramas if there was no cf in the deck and the antenna was facing upwards.
The enclosure isnât the issue, its the deck.
Donât worry. You wonât lose any of your data. I just tried the same procedure on my iPhone and everything went well.
