This is usually how trampa products are.
But with 1 dead receiver it will be 2 wheels locked, with 1 dead receiver with CANbus it will be 4 wheels locked. Who told you that if receiver die, wheels will be locked?

it complicates the system because you more have double the failure points. if one rx goes bad, gets interference, bad packets, etc itās not going to end well
even if you wanted to, i donāt think there are any controllers it there for esk8 that will allow binding to more than one rx at a time.

this is gore almost every wireless controller works
they all have their own protocol, and they arenāt interchangeable

Vesc doesnāt lock the wheels when you lose signal to the remote. You just coast.

imagine you (receiver) have one ear are listening to someone (transmitter) give commands in a room (environment). if you mess up you fail.
if you are alone (middle of nowhere) you can hear them perfectly. no problems.
but we rarely get that. there are other people (ie radio towers, other remotes, wifi, ble, etc) and they are also talking (noise/interference)
what you are asking is to add a friend (receiver #2) with one ear and to listen to that same someone giving the commands. now both of you have to make sure you are getting all the right commands and in competition, or else you fail.
no, you are not adding another ear to yourself, because that is diversity, where you can take the information from both ears and filter out the better signal and use that. we donāt have diversity in esk8. we also do not need it because we are at most 3-4ā from remote to receiver.
now, why is 1 well placed receiver fine?
as mentioned, channel hopping
the someone giving you commands can jump around the room to give you the best chance of hearing them.
if you shaft yourself by placing your ear in yhe corner of room (eg, having the receiver in a cf enclosure and under a cf deck)
then youāll have problems. that there is skill issue, not as much a remote issue these days unless you manage to ride somewhere that has an obscene amount of interference.

This has been hotly debated previously, multiple times.
General consensus is that if you can avoid dual receivers, you probably should.
