VESC receiver and RC

Hello! I need help.

My second 4WD project. At this time it should be cheap (not so expensive as previous by Torque components)

  1. I have no idea about cheap VESC Remote Controls. Can someone offer to me? (not Flipsky)

  2. I use TRAMPA WAND RC and receiver from they too. But I do not understand, if another RC will work with TRAMPAs receivers? with only 1 or 2 in the same time (I use 2 ESC and 2 receivers)

Mini remote 100%

You only need one reciever, which comes with the remote.

You can either do spit PPM or CANbus, it’s your choice.

If you search for “remote” using the search box at the top, you can find a lot of different options that the community uses.

Don’t know anything specifically about trampa, but don’t expect anything else to be compatible.

Why? You can run a single receiver connected to each vesc. Or, put all the vescs on the same CAN network, connect the receiver to one, and use CAN forwarding

My plan to use 1 RC with 2 receivers. It is more durable (stable). if signal to 1 receiver will lost, 2nd will work. Also I can adjust power and brakes of front engines and rear engines independent.

Most remotes have channel hopping, meaning if the signal gets disconnected it will reconnect automatically.

You can do this anyway with VESC over CANbus and a single reciever, which is fewer points of failure.

you just stepped into a trap

These are duplicate systems, not complicating ones.

Did not know that I can adjust power and brakes by CANbus. I will try with my 1st 4wd

I have a few people asking me if the Trampa wand can pair with any generic VESC NRF51 receiver. I wish I could find out…

I am already done 1000km and did not found ant trap, lol =)

never try… I can test if I will order not trampa receiver. Do you have any ideas (link)?

You live in norway I guess. (add that to your profile page pls)

idk what stores ship there easy.

I only have a Summerboard remote, which might be very close to the Trampa wand firmware wise but nobody really knows.

Failing to think of more venders, others don’t list nrf51 just “bluetooth” " vesc express"

Better I will order TRAMPA receiver and will try cheap RC with trampa receiver than Flipsky (I have bad experience with Flipsky)

I think there’s a point that’s important to note, I think this is a logical fallacy.

Running two receivers doesn’t make the system redundant- a failure of either system can/will cause a crash, and therefore the risk of a remote failure isnt decreased, it’s increased (because of 2x the number of receivers that could fail/loose connection)

I work with fault-tolerant systems professionally, and it can often be counterintuitive :slightly_smiling_face:

I am confused, what generic remote will you buy similar to the trampa one firmware/comms wise?

At this system it will be duplicate system as 2 engines in plane. With 1 engine it will be not so good, but still plane, not glider. With double system in e-skate I will have brakes in any situation

If you have a reciever failure it could lock up your wheels unexpectedly.

With 2 receivers you double the chances of that happening.

Never think about it. Is it possible? Or TRAMPA receiver works only with TRAMPA WAND RC? And TRAMPA WAND works only with their received?
