VESC - Motor will not start until a small kick is applied from a full stop

I can check again.

Quick question – do the hall sensors serve any other purpose other than to allow the motor to start from a complete full stop? I.e. does it make the motor quieter/run more efficient? or is it literally just to start the motor when it is halted (without having to kickoff).

It makes it so it doesn’t require kicking off, efficient control at low speed. I think hill braking and starting might be better with sensors too.

I have always run sensored because I have them
