New cloudwheel discovery FE 105mm and 120mm wheels.

I also really enjoyed these wheels, definitely good stuff. Haven’t tried them with any moisture but I assume the experience would be about the same.

Noice video brother. You’ve made me a believer. I love my cloudwheel rovers 110mm as they got me through a soggy winter. Was hoping they’ll do a 120mm version.
Based on your initial impressions, I’ll take the FE 120mm as my commuting summer wheel.

IMO, the Madwheels V2 still have them on grip, but the clouds are more comfortable, even though they are a narrower contact patch.

The good impressions of course assume that they haven’t changed something drastically that would make them delam or something crazy

Yes. Mad v2 dethroned my abec11 zoobomb as my ultimate thane. Just wished there was a 110-115 mad V2 to commute on.

There will be a bigger version in the near future. 125mm x 80mm. If all goes well, I can start testing in a couple of weeks.

125! Go big or go home. I suppose they’ll do. Can’t wait.

Brother I’ve picked up a set of cloudwheel discovery fe 120mm and man are they big and heavy wheels. As you’re typical street rider on 2-1 boards, would you consider a mad wheel v2 in 110mm? You would offer something different to what’s available - abec11 zoobomb and TB110. Being potentially a lighter, grippier and more maneuverable wheel that can go All street and 2-1 boards. Just a hope of mine. Peace!

The 105mm MAD wheels are a good balance between agility, stability and grip.

I ride the Mad Wheel 105’s, both types of TB110’s (Black & Blue), Evolve 97’s, Evolve ABEC 105’s, and the Cloudwheel 120’s all on a regular basis.

IMO, I like to find the “right wheel for the right board”.

Generally, if the board is stiff (like carbon fiber), then a soft wheel is better. Conversely, if a board is really flexible (like a Rayne Crush), then a harder wheel usually feels better.

IMO, it’s a matter of finding the correct balance for you. (I emphasize the “for you” because everyone’s body’s are different, riding styles differ, weather conditions, etc. (there are lots of variables to consider when choosing a wheel).

That said, all of the Urethane Wheels on the market are good. I’ve swapped all of the Urethane Wheels mentioned above on multiple boards and I’ve determined the following:

IMO, the Blue TB 110’s are great on the Rayne Boards (both the Demonseed and Crush) provided you have smooth sidewalks to surf on.

The Mad 105’s feel great on carbon fiber boards and I usually ride carbon fiber when the sidewalks are wet.

The Cloudwheel 120’s are great for when you need more ground clearance and they work great on the Bustin Sportster because of the deck’s drop down. However, Cloudwheel 120’s are not good in wet conditions.

I really like the WowGo AT2 with either the Evolve 97’s or the Evolve 105’s. IMO, the WowGo AT2 has one of the smoothest ESC’s I’ve ridden and combined with the Evolve Urethane wheels it creates a really satisfying ride. IMO, WowGo got the deck flex on the AT2 right.

The Meepo Hurricane Bamboo seems to really perform well with the TB110’s or the Mad 105’s, but I don’t like the Hurricane with the Cloudwheels at all.

With all this said, if I had to choose 1 Urethane Wheel for smooth sidewalks, it would be the TB110 (Blue). But if I had uneven pavement to surf on, it would be the Mad 105’s.

I hope this helps someone.

Been running the cloudwheel 120mm FE for a few weeks. Got to say they are a stayer. The size gets you over crappy roads. Very maneuverable for their size. Very good shock absorbency. They handle rough roads and pass the blind man bumps test. Unlike 111mm zoobomb that bounce and start aquaplaning when the going gets rough.
More grippy than zoobombs though not as grippy as mad v2 or cloudwheel rover 110s I’m told they have way more grip than the original cloudwheel 120mm, which makes sense considering the flat, wider contact patch and smooth profile. More importantly they are very efficient. Just rode 17 miles and average 3.4 miles per volt. So if i charge to 50v and ride it down to 42v I’ll get 27 miles on the p42a. I’m a heavy rider and riding freely in the high modes. The only urethane I find that’s more efficient are the zoobomb 111mm, however the FE 120mm have better performance. And I’ll gladly sacrifice a little range for overall performance.

Dear Brian, do you have any ETAs on MAD 125s? Itching bad for them.

If all goes well, it will sometime in the Fall.

Is there hope for them to lauch alongside the radium core variants, or sometime after

I am seriously considering a Radium core variant in the future. I have a couple other projects i want to complete first.

I already have pulleys in the works for the radium core if you need lol. Wouldnt be too hard to get you a smaller tooth count version than my 53T’s
