[U.S.] Psychotiller completes

TBD! 13s on a single amped up 68100 on pneumatics
More than performance I see some throttling down due to overheating
But that’s just me :man_shrugging:t2:

Great info and all but there’s probably a better place than someones For Sale thread to post it.

If I weren’t making speedboards this is the board I’d ride, for the record. It’s going to make someone very happy. Good luck, Dave, looking forward to seeing you excel going forward.

Yes I just realized that, I guess I got carried away when I saw myself tagged here.

A post was merged into an existing topic: SPEEDBOARD - $23k on Kickstarter in one day

To be fair, Dave is the one who brought David/Speedboard into this thread. But it’s all respect, other than Ankles Malloy.

Yeah, I shouldn’t have taken the bait though. Posts deleted, hope Dave sells these boards, they’re amazing.

That’s okay, I got carried away as well, deleted my posts, will mosey on back to the speedboard thread for more details.

Just FYI…

All I was doing was finally taking a humourous jab (at least, that’s what I intended it to be) on a vendor who had at least somewhat slighted me. I don’t really see how it’s any different, from e.g., Kellen shitting on Hyperion about his charger.

In my instance…

Dave told me in person I’d be able to get heXL’s (now termed fleXL’s) within two days. Having been personally told this, I gave Dave my money thru his website within a day. Little did I know, I wouldn’t be receiving those in two days. It took over two months, with absolutely zero communication from Dave to me - despite me emailing him something like 6 times about it. Kinda stiffed me out of two months of riding because I thought they’d be coming… Any day… At least for the first month. Started to lose hope after that.

In the end, I’m still pretty sure the only reason I got them after two months is because I had others bug him about it as well. In the end, a pair of scratched up trucks randomly arrived at my work one day, sliced up bushings by the bushing seat in tow. Then, the second time I took wheels off (very gently, mind you) - my axle came out with it… Fairly frustrating. He also had nothing to say about this. I think @topcloud might have asked him something about it? I still have the original style that I know others cried about until they got replacements, which I think they also rekt… but that’s w/e. FWIW - I think they’re probably fine on pneumatics.

I still like Dave as a person. I don’t know how I feel about him as a vendor. I want to give him the benefit of the doubt and say ABEC really fucked his shit up, which sucks, and leave it at that. The fact a slight shitshow occurred from me making a small joke at his expense is slightly unsettling though. Hope this clears things up @BillGordon

This does indeed add some context to the situation. That would have frustrated the hell out of me as well. I know others have experienced much the same thing. In fact, we have two members of the mod team alone in the lurch on heXLs.

I think it was more a matter of timing. Things were moving in a more positive direction at the time, so I was hoping to keep the vibes going that way.

Thanks for the enlightenment, and sorry to hear about your disappointing experience.

Holy hell. It’s situations like this were us consumers need to tell them to shove it up their ass with a paypal/cc dispute. This reads like 2005 online shopping scams when the industry was still at its infancy. “You’ll get it in 2 days” followed by a 2 months ghosting is textbook scam behavior…

And receiving a beatup piece of junk after all that is just insulting.

Yeah man, then everybody else shits on you for making a fuss with their favorite vendor who was at one point great, but may have started slacking.

Simply put, Dave started selling shit before he had it. Before he even knew how to properly manufacture it. It’s a thing. It happens a lot. I wish it didn’t. One of the sub-companies at my work did this, except with $2mil worth of parts. I then tried to help them. They slapped an xt-30 connector in it and called it good or something like that. Dunno what happened, don’t wanna know tbh. This was about two months back. One of them called me last week. I didn’t answer.

Stop fucking selling shit before you have it in stock - this needs to be for every vendor in esk8… Saying “hey your money is going towards production/development” is one thing - and we choose to throw our money at that shit. ‘we have it, gib ur munnies,’ and then not having it is much different.

Also, in the grand scheme of things, I’m a complete fuckin noob on this forum. When noobs go to vendors who had a good rap from years before, and then get shafted by the vendor, a lot of people want to seem to stand by the vendor and tell the noob to suck it… That isn’t how communities grow.

Hey there goose, no ones giving you shit because you said something. It’s because you seem to enjoy it.

Dave has spent years making stuff for us, and yes making money too. But in that time he has given away thousands of dollars worth of gear to people that either couldn’t afford better or replacing stuff people broke themselves.

Yes, I choose to stand by Dave because I know what he’s done in the past, I know what happened that caused this and I see him working through it.

If one were to measure the factual content of your message vs baseless assumptions, well it wouldn’t come up to much other than you enjoy causing shit b

I’m short, if you can be kind when dealing with people, do so. Most of the time you can.

Thanks for your assumption. I’m somewhat aware of the cool shit Dave has done for people.

Being completely honest, I genuinely wanted to reach out to Dave and offer some help (simply in free labor if he needed) when I had a large amount of free time in SoCal (I was living close enough to him). Never ended up attempting to do that though. To a lesser affect, I did offer some assistance that may have helped make the fleXL shitshow not happen. As all other emails… that wasn’t responded to - I honestly doubt he read it.

@mmaner , reading your revision, I’m going to PM you. I hope you read it and respond.

Anyways - with regards to your statement on being kind… Guess what man. I made a $250 fuckup with Hyperion. I have no fucking clue why, but he covered that out of his own pocket. Like, really. No idea why anybody would give that away to some random forum lurker at the time this had happened. So - I tried to stick up for him. However, I don’t think you seemed to care (correct me if you did and I missed it) - you let everybody take a massive smelly shit on him tho. Looks like he truly has flaked… But fuck, he was cool to me and I had faith for the longest time…

This is the last I’ll speak on this topic tho. Thanks for the input.

I haven’t taken part in the Hyperion bash fest for the same reason, personally I never had any complaints about them and they treated me very well. That’s not too say nothing happened, it’s too say I have no dog in the race so I’ll just let everyone that does do what they do.

If my assumptions upset you, yours did as well.

This is baseless, there’s is not a single correct fact in all of it. The only motivation I can see for it is either you are so angry you can’t control yourself or you enjoy drama. Neither one is good for anyone and is actually bad for the guy that’s trying to make all this right.

Holy fuck dude. I am a child I guess and I can’t fucking contain myself.

I was with Dave. In person. He had a set of heXL’s going out to somebody.

I asked him how long it would take if I paid right now. He said yeah, we’re making them. Two days and they’ll be ready to ship. Guess what wasn’t fucking true.

Next time I was with him, I asked him about the wait. He said there were CNC manufacturing issues that caused a lot of issues and delays.

Fucking Christ dude.

YOU’RE MAKING THE ASSUMPTIONS
