Turnigy sk3 6374 192kv or Flipsky 6384 190kv?

I have bought a set of flipsky’s 6384’s battle hardened and they should arrive in a couple of days, i will let you know if they work, im planning on that exact setup, but if they don’t, then i will buy boarnamics 270mm hanger and call it done

TB218 will accept 2x 6382 motors, FS6384 should actually be a 6386

Have you heard if it will be open or closed can? I’m building a MTB and haven’t yet purchased the motors. I’m about to pull the trigger on the TB6380’s but maybe I should wait.

Wow, interesting to see how people are all over the board with their motor preferences. I’ve got some flipsky 6384’s on a 13s setup and they’ve been solid and stayed cool, no problems with em. I’m also apparently the only person who refuses to buy TB motors again after a terrible experience with 2 of their 6355’s. And my fav so far are Maytech 6374 190KV’s, and then Turnigy SK3’s…So @Sihe that prolly leaves you just as confused as when you walked in here :joy:

Shitsky is as good as it gets for the price. Personally I’m yet to own the new version of 6384s factory battle hardened but the outgoing model of it has been great to me

The TB6380 is a really, really good motor.

Also, I don’t know.

this gets my vote, I know I can get spare parts for these easily - I’ve changed bearings and axel on mine , not sure I would even try that on the others , wouldn’t know where to start finding parts Turnigy so convent for that.

EDIT: I even used 2 in a gear drive, swapped out the cut axels for new ones and used in belt again

by their schematics the should be 6385’s, although i will check and let all of you know

I was checking with a ruler, that number is probably more accurate. But you do want to add a motor clearance value…touching motors will cause you some issues

yes, you are right, that is why i’m thinking about boardnamics hangers… or, since i’m building an Evo 40, mount one forwards of the truck and one in the back, while i wait for the new hangers, they take a long while to get to Chile

BN220 should work, but it depends on the pulley and wheel type you have too. Wheels like Magnums have a 19mm hangar side dish while Flywheels have an 11mm hangar side dish

In theory you can run Magnums and a 15mm pulley (110mm hangar + 40mm axle - 24mm bearings - 85mm motors - 6mm mounts - 16mm pulleys - 19mm wheel dish) but that’s not something I would bet in favor of…but most wheels are shallower

i will use superflywheels 107’s, excuse my ignorance, but i have never heard of magnum wheels, and about the bn220, since i have to make the investment, might as well go all the way

BN220 is the standard short hand for the Boardnamics 220mm precision hangar, Magnums are the Venom Mach 1 Magnum wheel (I was just checking if they would fit my board about an hour ago so I had that dimension off the top of my head)

i see, bo, i’m talking about the 270mm with the adjustable baseplate

Using the measurements for a 107 Superfly it might just barely work, you will need to add a 17mm spacer between the bearings and hangar but a normal bearing spacer and 7 speed washers should do it (usually a bearing spacer is 10mm and a speed washer is 1mm)

  • 7mm axle nut
  • 24mm bearing stack
  • 20mm wheel dish
  • 16mm wheel pulley
  • 6mm motor mount
  • 85mm motor

The total per side comes to 158mm and the total side length on the BN220 should be 160mm

@nozeback what happened to your turnigy? Why toast?

wrong user dude, cheers!

It turns out that someone nearby has Torqueboard 3680 and flipsky 3684, so I’ll go down tomorrow and buy one of them for half the price of a new one. I haven’t yet decided which one or I might end up with both.
