Which motor should I get for a single drive, Turnigy sk3 6374 192kv or Flipsky 6384 190kv?
Thanks in advance
TorqueBoards 6380 if you can
ftfy
Haha touche
I would personally go for Flipsky at this point. They’ve had a horrible go at it prior to last year, but now their products have been pretty great for the price tbh.
Honestly yeah, the new 6374 motors look really nice. Much less cogging than most other motors of the size and way cheaper
I just stepped off a single drive, and I use single drives a lot. IMHO they are underrated. Put the motor on the rear heelside.
For single drive, I’d pick, in order:
- Torqueboards 6380 190Kv
- Flipsky 6384 190Kv
- Torqueboards 6374 190Kv
- Maytech 6374, not sealed
- sealed Maytech 6374
- Turnigy sk3 6374 192Kv
- Turnigy sk8 6374 192Kv
- Janux/Dark Matter 6374 190Kv
- any other 6374 170Kv to 210Kv
- with a 6355 class motor, your power will be adequate but your brakes will suck
- with a 5065 class motor, your power will be weak and brakes will be weak, but rideable
- with a smaller motor it’s not rideable
I can’t emphasize enough how good the TB6380 is for a single drive skate. It’s definitely worth the few extra bones. The TB6380 also seems to work really well running unsensored with HFI. I use
I gear it 15/42 – or 15/44 or 15/40 or 16/44 with 110mm wheels
And of course the TB 63100 motor is looming on the horizon if your ESC is big enough
if we are talking about the differences, flipsky is close can compare to sk3 open can. depending on ur build, u might need a close can? (mtb / offroad)
Edit: didn’t see the single drive part, but open/close can option still stand
I wouldn’t use a single drive for mtb/offroad
i didn’t even see OP wants to build a single drive lol
Haha it’s possible, single 5065 in grass with pneumies
Only for road use haha. My sk3 seems to have passed yesterday, but thanks for all the answers! Think I will try the flipsky cause og the high shipping cost from Torqueboards.
I will ring my failed bearings flipshit motor in your ear while i show you months of useless support chats and a paypal denied claim (because i opened it, like they asked inside the chat support).
While i can’t contest whether or not they started making better quality stuff, got forbid you ever have any problem with one of their products
Sorry to derail the thread, but why heelside? I thought it doesnt matter.
It doesn’t matter that much, I just prefer the feel of that that way and it seems to slip less when you lean backwards. And if you lean far enough to pick the drive wheel up and lose traction, it’s easier to deal with stepping off facing forward, than backwards. Sometimes that happens for example, on carpet or if you hit some grass or whatnot, usually at low speeds going into a stop.
It’s no big deal if you put it on the toeside or if you ride goofy on a board that has the drive wheel on the rear left.
Does anyone know if dual 6384 Flipskys will fit on a 218 TB truck w/ 15mm belts?
Is it necessary to battle harden the Flipsky motors?
the latest flipsky motor is already battle harden
Then Flipsky it is.
they have both types listed on their website, just make sure u select the correct one:
