not gonna lie, kind of a disappointment. I felt like all the sales thread that had one you swooped in before I could…
Bro. Hire a Karon as head of PR. Let her schmooze us into the TM. It’s how it’s done. If I was head of PR I would say things like “Suck it” and “Hey, why don’t you go fuck yourself?” and be fired immediately. It’s why we stick to building stuffz. You know this. I know this. And apparently the majority (and new users apparently) know this.
Let’s start a new leaf? Maybe come back tomorrow as the “New” Frank and just post cool shit like you guys do on instagram. Get a hold of those in violation of the TM in a more private matter?
I might have 3… But one doesn’t have an enclosure…
You’re single-handedly turning even the most die-hard free & open source software folks away from Trampa.
People who have defended you in the past.
And if you’re turning us off, then you can totally forget about the other 99.9% of the population.
If only you knew someone with a CNC
Or, hell, a 3d printer
Brian stop making me fall in love with you. We both know it can never work.
How many times do I have to tell you???
u have a ™ in China, u sue all the companies that violate all the ™ shit and ask for compensation of that vesc thing potential client lost thing whatever, then they have to pay u, that should cover the 15K u r asking.
that’s if u can win the court case in China against multiple chinese companies.
what’s so difficult about it? if u have a legit case, bring it to the table. picking on small content creator is just bad for ur image, specially when u r avoiding actual (big-ish?) company that manufacture electronic speed controller, like maytech / flipsky…
for anyone who actually care about what trademark BV has in China, the Registration number is G1351012 (Class 9)
Comes across as 100% anti-competition.
I love swinging my dick around as much as the next guy… I’m going to stop here…
Speaking of rules and adhering to them, https://trampaboards.com/ is in violation of GDPR. There are no proper granular cookie consent, there are actually none what so ever…
What about the edge? then it can spin and roll about!
To a point, all ends.
Sure, it can role there on the edge.
Dude, preach.
hahaha lol.
I don’t know what y’all are about now. I read that trampa will lose so many customers so many times in this thread.
Sure, some will read 300 posts a day about this and consider buying something else, but for me at least, everything i bought so far from them was top class. Next day delivery, aftersale support, all of it. As a customer, this is what i care about. I would buy more parts from trampa but i can’t for the life of me figure out what is compatible with what i have. That’s my only gripe.
@b264 about your bedroom example, if you try to trademark the word bedroom it would be stupid, but if you trademark Vbedroom (as in Vedder’s bedroom), you have every right to defend it.
As for whoever was calling it a variable speed controller (i’m not scrolling back through this shit show), what earns it the variable definition? Are all esc’s vescs now? Is the evolve controller a vesc? Or do people refer to vescs as controllers that run vesc tool software?
Is it wrong to keep the trademarked name exclusive to the creator/owner?
@Trampa
I thought you said you were done with this topic? You’re still replying…
It’s very clear that you are not welcome here; on this forum or in our eskate community. Don’t let the door hit you on your way out.
Edit: your comments have tarred the Trampa name. I hope Ted approves of your shite.
I feel like Trampa is welcome here.
But I also feel like they should come up with a name for their motor controllers so they can build a strong brand identity. Reusing the name of one of the components of their controllers is not working so well. Anyone can search “VESC” to figure that out, as very few of the search results have anything to do with Trampa.
Trampa advocates building brand identity more than anyone else, and they’re ironically the ones with the most need to do precisely that. Almost no noob has any idea that VESC is a specific brand of motor controller. Mostly because in reality, it’s not. It’s a brand of motor control software and the name of an open source project.
A lot of us here aren’t just 1 customer. I’m already building 3+ boards a year, and that’s just for myself, friends and family. Some people here make a living off building custom boards for people. Some people here own web-stores that stock these parts. And even if new forum members don’t read this thread, when they ask for ESC suggestions they’re not going to be recommended Trampa by us.
I don’t know the exact numbers, but I do know that the DIY esk8 scene is still quite small, which makes this forum and the people who read it a large part of the total consumers in this market. Well, us, and randoms who get all their advice off YouTube, but as you can see, Frank is stinking up that platform as well
To conclude: I find it insane that Trampa are shooting themselves in the foot with so much bad PR. A few months back we had no ESC options, but now there are plenty. They really done goofed.
To be honest and completely off topic here, I think that our little community here only makes up a small component of the DIY market.
Complete speculation, but I reckon the majority of DIY esk8 builders are to be found on other parts of the internet or not on the internet at all.
None of the riders i met so far had an idea about this site. Diy and prebuilts. Also general opinions about vendors change from group to group. I’d say based on activity, this site is less than 1% of the diy world, but based on sales and development it has the majority of the bigger vendors here (and we’re buying and recommending stuff so it works for them)
