Totally get your frustrations. But they’re not with Ben Vedder. From what I’ve seen and heard from friends, he’s cool as fuck. Just looks like he made a horrible decision to work with a dickhead like Frank. It happens. Especially when the thought of being funded for the baby he had called “VESC” is concerned. Which also sucks. Just take for instance Jeff (created the Unity) that worked for Enertion. This isn’t uncommon. It’s unfortunate.
I really hope for all of us that he puts a stop to Frank. He’s bad for business, and will NOT push this thing we call “VESC” any further. He’s the opposite of what open source is. He’s the corporate institution we call “Windows”…
He is so bad, that he stipulated Stormcore and Unity support in VESC-Tool - totally Windows…
Such a bad thing to have that in there… He probably drinks kids blood.
I guess most Unity users are happy to know that there is future support.
@SeanHacker: Do you actually believe what you type?
See, there is only that much that can be delivered free of charge. It is is totally inappropriate to believe that a OS project can share everything and work without funding and identity. It is simply unrealistic.
As soon as a minor set of rules is imposed (namely GPL and identity) everyone cries like a baby.
You should look at what is delivered and what you have, and not at what you don’t have.
Imagine how shocked you are gonna be when you find out that the thing that everyone has a problem with is not the OS project or the GPL rules, its YOU Frank.
You are losing customers by your handling of the situation. Not by enforcing the rules, but by HOW you are CHOOSING to enforce them.
I seriously encourage you to re-read this thread, and instead of dismissing your customer’s and potential customers as “crying like a baby,” actually hear that what they are complaining about is you.
Frank. Just being real here. Maybe it’s from working for companies that make Trampa look like an ant on the map. Maybe it’s because I’m a real human being just watching this bullshit and having enough. But here’s some stellar advice for ya dude.
This is where you suck on the public dick. You put that thing in there deep and gobble on it and then ask for more. Then, just like any respectable business does, you get an attorney (which you should already have). You have them make those very important phone calls, send those emails, and write those letters to said violaters. BOOM! Ya did it like a big boy. Like a real company!!! Yaaasssss!
Seriously though. You brought this in public and acted out like a child. The face of a fucking company? You basically fucked off customers looking now, current customers, and future customers. Why aren’t you listening to all these people here? You’re obviously invested. You’re here!
Dude I’ve bought shit from you and ride some of your shit. I love it. And I loved the whole purchase! I just won’t buy anything anymore from you because of your style. Hoping you hear this… and hear the rest of the people taking their time to bullshit with a dead wall so it seems.
Are you willing to donate 15K for legal fees to be spent in China.
And do you think that if we strike with lawyers that it would help to polish the image.
People here cry because of a Youtube complaint. How would they cry if we would send a lawyer?
I am new here. I just made an account to make Frank aware of this. I am disgusted by what I see. I was very passionate about Trampa and about to drop a few grand of my hard earned cash on a board. You have changed my mind completely. What sort of professional brand brandishes themselves in such a toxic way as you have done above, and what would that say of me if I were to support said brand. And who copyright strike videos of respected members of the community, without even reaching out to them first to resolve the issue. Thus leaving a permeant stain on their channel because of what I can only imagine is jealousy and commercial fear. This is frankly disgusting, and to make matters worse you continue to respond, like you have some sort of super ego and insist you get the last word in. This is shameful. I am just glad the whole community here is unanimous in your condemnation.
See Sean, every coin has two sides and it is not easy to keep things together. We have to set limitations to what is possible and what isn’t. No matter how its done (via public, via lawyers, via messages, via complaint) it is always not as some would like things to be handled. It is the nature of the topic.
Sure, true. There’s always going to be folks who dont like how you handle things. But can you not also see that the current way you are handling things is losing you business and hurting your brand?
