Torqueboards TB110 Really Big wheels [Serious]

Lol. I guess it’s just people that are close-minded bother me, I know I’m a fanboy of one brand but this lady literally said " oh you have a boosted board"

My reply was nope I don’t have an iPhone either, like my stuff to not fall apart or cost 2X more than it needs to, for half the performance lol

It’s fun bro i like the enthusiasm you should consider sales if you are already in that field.

I hope you don’t tell customers their iPhone is shit :joy:

I told them how much I love Apple and how amazing the phones are LOL

I’d love softer wheels! if you make 74a I will buy them instantly

you think the efficiency losses with softer Wheels would be more than one percent?

pinging smarts @professor_shartsis

Edit: Now that I think about it the duro is not much harder already so idk why I even thought about a whole percentage. So negligible it’s funny.

Who cares, plz don’t ping him😂 it’s so annoying

I think it would be completely negligible when compared to numies so soft is good. Soft is very good.

Just be careful when Dexter talks about specs, he lies. My 110’s measured 109.8. So if he says 74a it could very well be 73.5a

Thought you all needed to know this.

You should get a partial refund for the missing urethane.

The extra torque made up for it.

That thread lacks some charts so it could qualify as [SERIOUS]

This

I’ve tried various prototypes of the original wheels and some of the softer ones didn’t do it for me as much as what is now the current production formula for the black ones. But I’d love this experiment to happen. And yes, I’ll buy one set minimum to check them out

Be aware that longevity might suffer if you go up in comfort. One of the prototype sets rolled the whole inner edge off on the first ride. But they were super smushy.

I know @torqueboards that we’ll test this but even if this does happen i think people would like to have the option, I for one take comfort over durability any day

How soft is too soft? Cause I think those airless diyeboard (not Torqueboards) tires were too soft, had a crazy amount of rolling resistance and killed efficiency. I couldn’t even really kick push my board with those tires on, because it would just roll to a stop. And running those tires on a single drive 6374 / VESC 4 overheated the VESC within 1.5 miles on flat asphalt. Swap wheels to 97s, same riding, and no overheating events at all, only got up to around 60°C, IIRC. And the 110s have about twice the contact patch width, but roll is so much better at 78a. I forget what duro they claimed on the wireless tires, but I think it might be softer than they claim, and I’d be curious to know their actual hardness (softness).

Dex, have you tested any 74a wheels? Is there any softer duros available or tested?

I thought I was alone in that thought …

Nope.

I’m trying out a set of 74a right now, working on breaking them in, slides, speed runs, etc…

To compare to 107mm Reflex superflys, they make nearly unrideable terrain feel super comfortable- These are begging me to open up the throttle with great reward whereas superflys are begging me to crawl on total shit terrain. 78a 110s already felt great, significantly better than superflys, but having them a step softer is amazing.

Since the beginning, Dex has done good work getting something right here, cause these despite the insane grip also break free and slide smooth too. I need to get some sliding in at different speeds on more variety of pavement soon but compared to reflex urethane and older (pre-production) iterations, there is almost no chatter here.

Damn, you make that look so easy. Thanks for the testing and feedback. Have you done any range tests to see if they have any measurable impact?

not yet so far I’ve put them through only about 10 miles from less than a half charge, but I’ll log average wh/mi, boards charged taking it out for a full battery this afternoon… no guarantees these are so soft I’ll probably push it harder than I normally do (raising the wh/mi) since their so comfortable. Just judging off the feel of them, compared to my pneumies at 50psi, I fear saying but still I’ll say it they are really close comfort wise to my pneumies, but nowhere near the drag. obviously they are still Urethane and can’t compete with 160mm+ diameter so large bumps and cracks are still what they are. I can’t tell a difference between these and any other urethane wheel resistance wise, but they like all the 110s have the mass and momentum to roll, and I do not get any sense that the softness takes away from this. I’ve had 72a Avila’s, so I know what too soft feels like.
