Torqueboards TB110 Really Big wheels [Serious]

Are the poles loose, have any rotational movement?

yeah I run 40t pulleys no problem

A little bit loose

I go 18/40 and VESCS get slightly hot (100-135 F) but as long as it stays under that I’m OK

are your pulleys loose? cores are backwards prolly, I already told TB about mine and they said that’s all they got atm. I taped aluminum tape on the pins of my pulleys for a tighter fit, it’s a suboptimal solution

edit: @esk8 sorry replied to wrong person

I was thinking about getting 18/40 from dicky. Had two concerns, loose pulleys and overheating. Don’t want my dual 4.12 Vescs burning up.

they will most likely heat up a extra 10-15 F

18/40 is a lot for 110mm wheels, did you use the calculator linked from the top? 15/40 works well

Yes used the calculator:
15/36 gives 29.57mph
16/40 gives 28.30mph.
18/40 gives 31.93mph

Currently I have a 15/36 setup but it’s ABEC style. This is ideal but I can’t find a good priced 15 wide 36teeth pulley that will fit the TB110s.

Dickyho has 40t so was considering getting that with either 16t or 18t motor pulley. If it’s going to over heat then I may have to stick to 16 teeth only.

What trucks are you using?

I will be on TB218s

Ah. Was gonna recommend haggy pulleys. Very affordable 36t kegel core pulleys. But only for 10mm and 12mm axles i believe.

it’s true, 18/40 is alot. I did it for speed but lost so much torque it’s almost not worth it.

Is that with a 6374 motor?

nah dual 6355 190kv. I think 6374’s would handle a lot better?

I have dual 6374 170kv. I’m sure they will have plenty of tourque.

I can relate to that super scary rattling. Going from pneumatic to urethane was a huge leap. I have found that they are pretty scary at slow speeds on bumpy shit. Once I hit 30+ mph though, it smooths out enough to feels controllable again. Those yellow bumpy things at cross walks are a fucking hell of a scare, you need to keep your knees bent and not have any of your weight shifted to one side, you need to be perfectly balanced and you’ll be just fine. I think if you stick with it and wear pads you will get the courage and skill you need to ride the 110s comfortably. I’m currently on that path and every day I push myself I find that I get a little more comfortable and confident each time.

I don’t think it would do that to only these wheels on a deck like that

Does the haya flex at all? I go over these all the time at slower speeds and it is not a problem with my 90’s, to be fair I doubt anyone cruises at 30 all the time, but I wouldn’t want to hit something like this in the first place, but these are pretty easy to avoid

I think all these issues formed because you were pampered with nummies to start with lmao

LOL

Ya I haven’t gotten to ride nummies yet so I just figure they ride much smoother

Yeah, you need pneumatics for that especially if your cruising over those reflectors at 25-30mph. Lol

Even if you had a 180mm thane wheel. I’d imagine you’d still feel that at 25-30mph.

Aren’t all those reflectors in a straight line. I’d imagine you’d just cruise around it vs running over it?
