That’s new to me. If I’m freerolling backwards and hit brakes it just stops pretty quick.
But yes that’s not really intuitive, I agree.
The two schools of thought are:
-
Negative throttle should always try to make me stop
-
Throttle direction should match acceleration direction
Ideally these two each become their own mode
The second one is current mode
Yes. I’d like smart current mode.
Current mode is excellent (for eMTB) when you get used to it. I started with just brake, then smart reverse and now I’m using current. I used to hate the boosted with the throttle like that but for emtb it’s nice.
The firmware can do weird things with throttle sometimes which can catch you off guard. I once tried to accelerate going down a hill with a super low battery and it made me brake sharply! That was a surprise .
Just went out on the Tow truck.
I have it set on smart reverse.
Bumped the 7% up to 15% and I think for me that is going to do it.
10% still seemed really slow. But 15% was good…
I’m not trying to go fakie…
Just trying to back it up here and there.
@rafaelinmissouri this is why anything but current would get me hurt.
THROW IT IN REVERSE
brakes one skateboards?.. idk man… I think both directions are where its at.
But you are also the 1% who can do shit like that
Doing spinny flippy things current mode is the only way to go for.
For the average billy boy who just wanna set back his board some meters on an intersection, smart reverse does the job just fine.
Awesome bro! I wish I was at that level
@Andy87 @Creavenger just pin that throttle and send it.
Throw all your BS aside and give it a try, I ride with @Kujo69 (50yr old rider) who sends it with me.
The dude pushes me daily. He has some clips on his instagram
Been trying to get him to make a thread here. maybe this will encourage him.
I just came to say current mode FTW.
At least stay for a beer man
I’ll remember to go into current mode before I do any 180°s
