Thanks! Can’t wait for it, really do think this is THE remote

Since the vesc and the geardrive started to behave, I have started a small upgrade to the board, main one beeing a wider ride, 4cm wider to be exact. This will allow me to put bigger motors on. I really wanna try a softer, but wider ride. The gear drive adapter will need some moding, to allow motor to come closer. Also new shoes, as in TB tires, maybe 0.5cm + clearance will be just enought, also some bits and pieces like black bolts for rims, 4a charger and a new plug.

I filed the geardrive adapter a bit for better mesh and mounted them outwards, this allows me to run 73mm motors. As for the motors.

Maytech 170kv sealed version, soldered proper bullets, green loctited the shaft grub srews and covered the smaller pattern mounting holes with a dab of hot glue.

So basically the majority of work is already done, I just now need a bunch of parts to arrive…

Oooh, so that’s why by default you can’t mount the gear drives with the mounting plate on the outside. Hmm, just a few more mm shaven off and 6880 will fit as well – nice!

shit, son. how long are those axle bolts?

Those are 100mm @rusins you would need around 12mm more for the 6380 to fit, it’s because of the actual hanger.

Hey guys!
Update time on the Slayer.
My Flipsky vesc started behaving and I had to buy a new one, opted for the smaller version. I actually was on the edge buying trammpa vescs, but the size makes free space issues unfortunately.

For first time testing I have set it to conservative settings.
60
-60
45
-15

Will run for a few days and increase them then I get a new remote.

I got TB tyres.

Fresh set of NSK bearings and a bunch of spacers.

And the new gears have arrived.

Good thing I had a lot of spacers.

It was really easy to set the mesh with the new setup.

I really take my time while assembling them, after all was done, I put it a 20cc of grease in each with a huge syringe.

Looks wise I have opted for all black bolts all around.

Back end.

Loads to test from this point on. Longer axles and softer bushings seems to play well so far, the board is a bit more stable, is slower but softer to turn. I have a VX2 coming in next few days so will up the settings once installed and will play with curves a bit. And still no push to start antispark unfortunately.

Beautiful build man, definitely one of the sexiest I’ve seen this year! Got that speed issue resolved?

Yes forgot to answer your PM but didn’t realise you were using 100mm shoulder bolts here.

@Kellag

Best I can do…160mm tyres help tho, only minor scratches on the case and none on the motor so far.

@amanuelamanuel I think so, I need to rebuild confidence in the next few days and do some other trotle curves to start really pushing the board, the remote is not 100% stable, so I’m extra careful.

@moon no worries man, thank you again for them, the difference is night and day.

Gr8 build mate :+1:

Hey! So the time has come to go bigger and wider…I’m not yet making an add, BUT please PM me if you would be interested in:

Surfrodz hangers with axle length of your choice. (60-80-100)
Superstar wheels + tubes+tyres+hub adapters.
Moons V1 and V2 geardrives.
Maytech 6374 sealed motors in 170kv.

I will be aiming for 40-60% reduction in prices.
