Angle riser is reeeeally helping turning. This deck kinda sucks lol. My heels hang off the back so bad.

I committed heresy today:

Lost a bolt for the bash bar and had to borrow a bloody Philips.

Right now I’m rocking 18s2p p42a with 15 Batt amps per VESC and 130 Motor amps per. Considering another battery, maybe 2 more.

I’m curious on your experiences increasing the size of an 18s setup @Pecos and anyone else that’s done high voltage+high ratio.

Will I get noticeably better performance out of 18s4p? If not I feel like getting 2x 18s2p might be better and doing something like a charge+ride swapping thing.

My peli 1200 should hold 18s4p.
Could also get one or 2 more 18s2p…
Hmm…

With 18s2p P42a, you should be able to run 30 battery amp per side and that should be plenty of power. 18s3p P42a should be enough for some headroom so you don’t stress the pack too much and still provide a shit load of power. Granted if weight is your priority.

Saint @b264 keeps telling me that bigger numbers aren’t necessary, and so far I’m not needing any more power at 15 battery amps. I rarely ever even put the remote into “high”/100% mode

This is wise.

It definitely is. I wanna get some air gosddamnit! Might even get an 18s1p just as a jump pack.

If you’re only running 15 battery amp and not even on the remote highest power mode. Then 18s2p is good.

Honestly I probably could use more power but it’s useless right now until I can get better traction. Loose ground uphills and mud pits and loose rock gardens are the things that always make me have to get off the board, typically because my wheels just start spinning with nothing to grip onto.

So if I got an 18S2P of LG M50LT do you think it would be okay for me to set a 15 battery amp limit per VESC? @Battery_Mooch and other battery people

I like 18s2p if you’re doing 15a a side on p42a or better cells and doing dirt and trails. Plenty of headspace on that with high motor amps to torque out of a dip or hill start. High battery amps are gonna be felt at higher speeds from my limited experience.

Light and jump able. Spare in a backpack if needed. Sounds like fun. I have to check my biases here really hard because of how much speed and elevation gain we do in ratcity. Like @MichaelWA who burns through a 21s6p in like 35-40 miles .

Not on this build lmao, she’s a wobblefest at close to 50kph.

I’m getting really great efficiency on 138kv too. I’m wondering if I should look into different motors or stick with these. They were ice cold after climbing 100m on super steep and muddy trails. Probably like 30% grade lol.

Im of the mindset that if it aint broke dont fix it. No good reason to make them warmer if the easy weight reductions are elsewhere.

Right now I’m assuming my trucks and deck are where I can cut weight, where else should I consider?

New wheels will necessitate a drivetrain redo.
